inspiration for this came from firehouse

You are at a 2 story house fire with thick smoke coming out of under the eaves of the first story and visible in the 2nd story windows. there is 1 2man BA team on the roof preparing to vent 2nd story windows and one BA team has entered the front door with a hose and been in for 10 minutes when their DSU starts making a racket.

you are part of a 2 man crew told to get them out.
there is no visible fire from outside the structure but LOTs of smoke?
sorry
What do you do? How do you go about getting them out etc

After reading a bit more it occurred to me most people hopefully would follow the hose in and usually find them so lets just say they aren't at the end of the hose.

I go in a get them out....easy.

Charged 38mm I don't want any ventilation to occur yet until i can eye ball what is going on. Venting high before a crew has eye balled the main fire could extend it or create other nastiness.

The key here is go in fast, protect yourself with good compartment techniques control your exit and make each room safe as you penetrate. Fire First though - if I come across fire I will knock it down. No point doing a rapid search without fighting fire. Putting the fire out makes the environment more survivable.

Grab the crew and drag them out -

Once the 1st crew is out I'll go back in and knock it down then get the place vented, high first then PPV in the front door.

That's straight out of my imagination - as all hypotheticals are..... :-P

Agrees with Firefrogs method..

With the addition of upgrading response, ensuring oncoming crews are aware of downed firefighters and the fact the incident has turned to a Rapid Rescue..

I would assume they were not on guide lines - This is one item which would enable an "easier pathway" into finding them, especially if they were not on the nozzle..

Well I sort of posted the hypothetical without thinking it through ans in CFS we are meant to run on either a hose or guidelines so in theory we should never be able to not be able to find crew who have activated their DSU.

any way here is the site.
