Hate to burst your bubble, but volunteers are not considered either full time nor "firies" by professional firefighters.

On-shift-Firie, from you introduction it sounds like you are one of these old fart MFS guys that needs to retire.Get with the times and see the benefits of both services and the great job both services do, often working together with each other. It is people like you that drive a wedge between the services.

I will gladly retire in a number of years, however in the mean time it will be my pleasure to work at the new Seaford station when it opens, and deliver a much more professional standard of service.

Im a realist not a stirrer.
I am currently at a Southern Station, Im not going to name specifics as I dont want any sooks complaining about my point of view.
In saying that, I have been IC at numerous incidents where CFS  have attended and lets say my opinion has alot of room for improvement.

I believe that the Fire Service will be looking for quite a number over the next two years.
Its a great time to apply if your interested in a career as a firie. Good Luck!

Off topic, but I have seen both CFS & MFS that need  a lot of room for improvement. So you can't tarnish all with the same brush. I think both service do a great job.
If they need to put in more MFS stations to protect the community  it should be done if waranted.

Well said, I can't wait to get those pretenders out of the burbs, Either.  send em back to hicksville where their crying can't be herd,  Bring on Seaford MFS...   I hope the same happens up North......  I think they should look at Dalkeith.  Station of jockeys....  if they can get a truck out the door.....

You need to get a life outside of the CFS. Go outside, look around. I'm sure trailer parks smell lovely in the morning.

im at kapunda and well im ses but i wouldnt say the mfs here are all that good nor a the cfs between the 2 services thay are lucky to get four to a job jset the ses can get 2 full crews i would have thought that to be part of the mfs in the country area you would have to live and work in the town not just live the cfs have 30 odd members on the books but cant get a crew so the ses have recently bought a heap more fire extusihers to use as a first aid to protect our sleves as we can be waiting anything up to 45 mins for a fire service

MFS retained firefighters are erquired to live within 10 km of their station. There is no requirement as to where they work during the day, but they must attend a minimum of 50% of callouts. Kapunda township is probably too small to support 2 seperate fire services...
