Boosters, Type 2 Pumpers and 34P's
« on: October 28, 2007, 10:05:11 PM »
A quick few questions.

What diameter is the Storz collector on the Type 2 Pumpers and the 34p's?

What diameter suction hoses are your Type 2 and 34'p stowed with?

What diameter Storz fittings are your local booster sytems static supplies?

Cheers!

The only static supply we have in a booster system in our area uses a 100mm Stortz connection...
(wow, that's really wordy - no idea how to say it more simply though... :|)

There are a number of booster's in region 3 and region 5 with 100mm storz hard suction and you will see alot more of these coming out...CFS will very soon have to look at giving brigade's the correct fittings so that they can do the job...... They will also have to look at upgrading brigades who only have a 14/24/34 appliances so as to be able to boost the new systems amny of these will be going into rural areas and in some cases are already there  but the brigade does not have the correct appliance....

34ps have 64mm SAFB and 100mm stortz suction hose. but looking at the 34p at the show there is no way to isolate the stortz inlet from the tank and hence you can only use it if the tank is empty or you are willing to get wet

and is it stortz or storz

The Storz threaded collector should be isolated via the Tank-Pump valve.

And from a quick tour of the internet, it appears that both Storz and Stortz are in use, but Storz appears far more common. OP amended to reflect such.

We have the systems but not the hoses for it, the hard suction in Goolwa is storz but the boxes in Victor are all like the 64mm hose so we can't actually boost over there if needed only MFS can....

Type 2 has 125mm storz and 24/34Ps have 100mm storz.

Any brigade that is EMA such as goolwa should be investing in adaptors to use boosters in samfs area that are fitted with 140mm SAFB threads.

Not EMA with victor, just the closest pumper (yeah i know it's only a 24P) after victors trucks.
