I noticed elizabeths original 331 wasn't online but an older scania was in its place, guessing 331 was being serviced. 2 days later, it had a f7 volvo in its bay and just yesterday it had the older,relieve pumper again. Does anyone know why the relief pumpers are being juggled around?
P.S, 332 was at the station on all occasions, so the difference in trucks wont have anything to do with a COQ's.

They are having the new MCT's fitted at present :wink:

Glynde now have adelaides 201 pumper.
Why don't they just give them that new volvo sitting at the work shop instead of hand balling trucks all the time? FYI- Beulah parks was glyndes, and at one stage beulah parks was oakdens

Station 20 has just recieved 2 new pumpers. A scania, which replaces 201's appliance which has gone to Glynde and a volvo which replaces 202's scania.

This is so stupid as St Marys & Salisbury have 12 year old appliances and Adelaide's 202 which was replaced with a brand new volvo was 7 years old.
Also, why don't they just give a new one to Glynde rather than giving them Adelaide's 3 year old 201 appliance and giving Adelaide a new one? :?
I'm not complaining about being in a new truck but seriously, there are other stations beside STATION 20 that require late model trucks!
But then again, it makes sense to do that so i guess that's why they did what they did! :-P

You might want to tiptoe a bit more gently HAZMAT 206... remember bosses have eyes everywhere, by all means criticise the decision, and offer a "preferable" idea... but never criticise the decision makers maybe they are just wasting time so they can put the new truck in the Seaford station when it is finally built and it wont be too thrashed...

Is it not because 409 and 329 are being replaced by new 9's next year. The workload of appliances in 20 is a lot higher and it is good to move the trucks on to slow stations such as 22.

Yeh, especially with no air-con and a smaller cabin!
Each appliance would be just as busy as each other.
For example, Gawler might not be as busy as 20 but it does longer distances.

But long distance driving aren't the killer of the big Diesal's.. Its the quick starting, driving cold, stopping and starting in city streets, operating a max capacity for short distances and over short, regular intervals, that eventually kill these trucks.. Hence, starting in adelaide, then moving to 'slower' stations, so to speak, is a great idea..

206, you make mention or hint of being in town yourself.. Why not go upstairs and voice your complaints to the boss or the OCC? Im sure it would serve you better than to question it in here.

Pretty sure you will find that town is the busiest station, whilst they might not engage the pump to often those trucks get hammered. Also, the old 202 is already set up as a pump rescue, so why not send it to Elizabeth as 339, makes sense.

Aside from the fact that there will be a bazillion new pumps coming online soon.

Each station has it's own characteristics:
Glen Osmond do alot of driving up the hills on the freeway-thus more strain on engine and brakes
Gawler do alot of travelling on the highway- alot of the time reaching 100km/h speeds
Eliz do alot of COQ's, they go to Gawler alot aswell as their populated area
Adelaide do alot of stop starting, but special appliances such as 206 and 205 can travel pretty far, 206 once went to peterborough and Port Augusta!

Christies downs i believe is one of the busiest stations, aswell as Eliz,Adel and Brooklyn Park

Was actually talking about the pumps on the trucks, seeing as they do so many Domestic/Commercial fires and grass fires up that way as well

You get that distinct sort of knowledge, when you turn them out and talk to them day & night..

and we all know that once it is up an running, seaford is by far going to be the busiest station...even busier than 20... :evil:
