I got mine about 2 years ago from Westaff in Adelaide. Think it was $30. I just had to sit down at a computer and do 2 pretty simple tests. Questions were based around being able to send an email, run spell check, just basic computer skills. If any questions were wrong then i got to have another crack at that question. Took about 20 min i think. Not sure if the testing has changed or the SAMFS require more now or not.

Same applied for the 2009 intake, similar cost too.

Have heard the same thing, why go thru the whole process again if they already have people who have met the selection criteria cab ranked? makes sense

They ran Pat 2 testing a month or so ago but i believe it was just incase there is a lot of retirements Mid year. Outside agencies use the facilities there for indoor soccer and basketball so could have been a work group. Unless they have decided to put another recruit course through, last i heard they were not expecting many retirements but i did hear that on the great SAMFS rumour mill so it is very unreliable.

This years retirement list doesn't seem to have to many on them, and those that are were on non operational roles. Some shifts have so many spares at the moment, but you never know what might happen.

Hey guys.
I've been following this dicussion for a while and thought I should join the site and contribute.
Do you think the people who passed the pat2 recently will still be called up even if a course isn't close on the horizon? It would be disappointing to tick all the boxes only to have to start from scratch again.
Just wondering as I was one of them..
Cheers

Dont quote me on this but i am pretty sure the Psych and other testing is only valid for 12 months so i doubt you could be cab ranked for too long. I think a few years ago there was guys that passed pat2 and even had medicals and still didnt get a recruited. It will all depend on retirements which the SAMFS should have a fair idea about by now. You could always give Mara a call to find out cos a lot of stuff that ends up on here is 3rd or 4th info from the great MFS rumour mill.
