MFS Rank Structure
« on: December 19, 2010, 01:57:19 PM »
Guys was just after some info maybe even pics of the epaulets and rank structure of the MFS.
Also are they different from retained to permanent and helmet colours aswell???

I know here in NSWFB we have red epaulets for retained and white for permos, yellow hats for firies, red hats for SO's, White hats for inspector through to assistant commissioner and Black hat for the commissioner.

Plus stripes, impella's, crowns, and all the other stuff on epaulets.

Perms

White helmet for FF
White with red stripe on helmet and 3 red chevrons on rank slides
Yellow helmet with red stripe for SO with 2 white impella's on rank slide
Red helmet and and 3 impella's on rank slide for District Officer

Retained
All the same except blue chevrons and impella's and blue helmet stripes and instead of 1 stripe on the white helmets, there is a single blue stripe for a Retained FF, 2 blue stripes for a level 1 Senior and 3 blue stripes for a Level 2 Senior, or Senior Senior so to speak.

Another variation is in communications, where the Operators [lowest rank] wear a plain blue epaulet that simply has 'Communications' across the bottom of it. All other epaulets; senior, officer, DO, etc are the same as in operations with the addition of the 'Communications' label.
