District Officer in Regional SAMFS
« on: March 06, 2011, 02:51:13 PM »
This is probably a bit of a stupid question, but do the Regional SAMFS areas like the mid north have a district officer? Cheers

Each region has its own regional manager.

West Coast is Darryl Horsell (Pt Lincoln, Whyalla and Pt Augusta)

Mid North is Greg Stapel (Kadina, Kapunda, Tanunda, Wallaroo,Peterborough, Moonta,Pt Pirie)

South East is George Rodis (Mt Gambier, Victor Harbor, Murray Bridge)

Riverland is John Foody (Berri, Renmark and Loxton)

The mid north manager is the only one not based in the region as its easy enough to manage from Adelaide (actually the TC)

The West Coast Regional Manager (was last time I heard) based in Whyalla and there is a Training Coordinator based in Port Lincoln (this officer is paid). The South East D/O is based in Mt Gambier and the Riverland D/O (again last time I heard) based in Renmark. All of the Regional Managers have their own vehicle and are usually the only paid officers that work in Regional areas. As for the attendance of the Regional Managers, they are usually seen at major fires as the incident controller of the fire ground.

What is the role of the training coordinator?

If you're interested, this is a youtube clip of Mount Gambier going through their yearly test with the training coordinator.
