the irst pager message to an ambo was at 10.58am. i think thats pretty poor. im not having a go at the ambos i know they work very hard but i just thought i would put it up to see what discussion it brought.

What would the fire service do in a case like this?  I can't think of anything we carry on the trucks in my brigade that would help (unless the pt needed to be carried to safety).

I would think it is to assist with getting the patient out of the on to the stretcher, out of the house and in to the truck, with a 2 person crew it is not easy to move a patient especially with a bung hip, I know at work we regularly use firies to provide a lift of a patient

Sounds like it was for a patient lift... but if CFS were sent to this job first up, you can help someone heaps by just doing your basic first aid...
Remember basic care DRABC and scene management
•   Make sure the patient is safe –eliminating dangers
•   Reassurance and basic psychological support
•   Posture the patient for comfort or splint
•   Temperature control - make sure the patient is kept warm
Ring SAAS/000 for further first aid support/advise/sitrep

From Edithburgh rd they could have grabbed the spare stretcher from ambo station n walked her to the hospital! I know yorketown and warooka ambos quite often have no crew but they usually manage a first responder to do what they can..

I assumed it wasn't because of the SAAS AT LEAST 1HR thing...
