Hi guys anyone been effected as of yet by the shortage? What have you or groups or regions put in place in case of shortage? Having said that our supplier says flows should be back to normal within a week!

There was a page out earlier in the week to one of the groups bordering Victoria, warning brigades to fill appliances due to a shortage in Vic, and the potential for trucks to cross the border for fuel.

I don't think there has been anything official come out and I don't think it will really effect the service I was just wondering if anyone at any level had put anything in place!

Several servo's near us out of diesel. Our trucks now topped-up.
Member who also volunteers with SAAS took their ambulance to 7 servo's this
afternoon before finding one with diesel. Another associate who drove a truck
Melb - Adel today, was unable to buy fuel in several towns, & limited to 100L
in others.

Good news according to Ch9 news - a tanker docked at Outer Harbour late today.
Deliveries should start tonight or tomorrow. Restoring normal reserves could take
a few weeks - there just aren't enough supplies coming out of the refinery or
local distribution tankers to replenish every servo & depot faster than that.

and we're bulldozing our ex-refinery because the Government believed Mobil when they said there was no need for a local refinery because interstate refineries would always be able to provide..... yes, dumb begets dumb

We (Sellicks) talked a bit about this last night, after training we filled both appliances, and checked they were full. We didn't resort to jerry cans as of yet, hoping we don't have to go that far.
