No. I wrote in once I received the test date and was given another date for catch up. There would have been maybe 20 of us...

How did it go Jason? Did you receive a “keep fit” letter original the other week?

Good luck with the interview!

Are you aware if everyone who passes the first PAT Test is invited to an interview? Or do they stagger the interviews until the appropriate number of positions is filled for the second PAT test?

In the past they have only interviewed enough for 1 or 2 squads at a time.

Absolutely zero.

Unfortunate you read into it so much to assume the bitterness.

Fact 1: last recruitment campaign, a potential recruit failed the Pat 2 by way of dropping the dummy in the casualty rescue task.

Fact 2: That same recruit was given another chance to contest the Pat 2 after their Station Officer father got involved.

Fact 3: That individual passed the second attempt and is now a serving firefighter!!!

But “We don’t assist anyone during their Pat 2” Bull...t

You’ve taken a second hand information and skewed it to make you feel better about being deemed unsuitable to the role of a firefighter.

Check your facts. You are way off on this one. There was an issue with the equipment provided for the PAT2 which put the applicant at a significant disadvantage and they were offered an opportunity to re contest under the same conditions as everyone else. And they passed with flying colours. The father wasn’t involved. Stop making things up.

If you want to know why you haven’t progressed look at your attitude and posts on this forum and focus on what you need to do no progress in the future, not other people.

Is it true if u didn’t pass the first stage ie abilities testing, that u can’t apply again in 12 months time when recruitment opens again? Just curious as it wasn’t mentioned in my unsuccessful email.

I was wondering the same thing if you don't pass the interview can you apply again when they recruit next year. A bit confusing

I echo Pac's earlier comment. Good luck to everyone at interviews this week.

Regarding the re-applying if unsuccessful. I believe, from what I can remember of the information session is that they keep your file on record for 2 years.
So you are able to re-apply. However, they may reject your application if you failed one of the steps.

This is what I took away from the information night. I may be well off the mark though so please don't hold this as fact.
If I am unsuccessful at my interview on Thursday I will still be re-applying next intake to try and put myself back in the mix.
All you can do is try and try again! Good luck!

Yes good luck to all who scored an interview!

Did they mention at these information sessions if they would be opening applications each year? Or do you think it will be like the last intake where they just keep taking people who have currently received an interview and who are in the ‘keep fit’ pool?

All we can do is speculate I guess

I'm one of the group whose run the PAT1 testing but hasn't heard an news about an interview, waiting to hear either way. Having multiple intakes from one big recruitment does make it a bit confusing ill be honest.

Good luck to everyone whose having an interview. Look sharp.

In the past they have interviewed in batches for each squad so it may be similar this time. Eg interview 50 and take top 24 for squad 1 then interview 50 for next squad and mix them in with the remaining from first batch based on interview scores.
