After a few handling a few calls for bogged cars in the mud last night, it would seem that tow trucks will not risk their rigs on slippery surfaces.

This includes metropolitan reserves which have had a drenching of rain & the victim requires a winch.

Now maybe this could be a future source of icome for 4-wheel drive clubs

Either way, I dont think EMERGENCY services, particularly those that Vol. their efforts, should be utilised for this... There are recovery and specialised tow companies around..

OK, who do they call ??  :?

I am genuine in the question because I answered a call during the weekend with this problem. The tow truck would not attend because they were off a road in a council reserve. Council would not attend and SAPOL passed this to SES.

The person did not have friends with equipment that could assist.

He was on the reserve has part of his contract work for a government agency that called him out to fix an emergency problem. After he had fixed the problem, he discovered his vehicle had sunk into the grass/mud and he could not get tyre traction on his 2wd ute.

No one else will do this task. It is property damage to the car & reserve.

PS. The person waited a very long time because no further damage would happen to the car, compared to internal flooding/roof off/etc taskings.

Not any more. That website says:
This has been removed due to the URL being posted to a public web forum.

Pity, I rather liked it.
