further to your replys, the person who was named, was not aware of this happening until it was too late as they have no connection with any of the emergency services or the agencys and certainly doesnt have a pager.

yes this happens when someone, usually a MFS/CFS/SAAS member, with a GRN pager, also has the Link operator answering service and diverts their phone (office, mobile etc) to the Link operator instead of voicemail.  The operator takes the message and sends it as a page to the person's GRN pager.  Therefore anyone calling that person can have their message transmitted over the paging network.  Most people are under the impression such messages are private but they are not.  I personally believe people running pager decoding sites on the web should be filtering out such messages and people who post them to forums such as this should remove any personal info (like names and phone numbers) or just not post them at all.

THIS THREAD IS FOR FUN Messages, we have been very lenient on what is posted here. It is important for everyone to use good judgement on what is acceptable.

Moderators not always monitoring this site and so it's everyone's job to make sure we do the right thing.

This thread is for having a bit of fun with stuff that comes across the network but it's not for copying and pasting every little bit of intriguing info. If you read the paging sites leave it there if it's not emergency services related and funny.

But continue to post the funny stuff.

I thought I remember reading that the Torrens Island Power station actually fell in Salisbury CFS area. No CFS involvement today though apart from Burnside doing a COQ.

If I recall correctly there was a Hazmat job out there a couple of years ago that CFS took care of. Can anyone confirm ??
