Bit like this one we got called to a while ago.

Apparently they were chasing some crooks through a park and forgot there was a creek in the middle of it.

Doh...

Private vehicles = no number plates
Police Car = Funny  :-D

I'm not concerned about any emergency vehicle number plate but of-course all private vehicle plates should be photoshopped.

Funny you know when my wife had our first son 3 years ago the brigade captain put it across out GRN pagers, sometime later he got a call from the region and got his rear kicked for doing it. But if we look at what people put on grn pagers today well sounds like some others up the ladder need their rear kicked.......

we always put out new arrivals on GRN at my brigade... and sometimes theres the odd birthday msg, or christmas new years...

I saw that page, B2. I pulled on my boots and was waiting for my pager to go off for that job, and I wasn't really looking forward to it.  :x

Not a good joke for the poor bloke that received it.

hah - nice striker, well put.

i think people need to take things a bit easier and concentrate only on messgaes that arrive on there pagers...

otherwise you end up like one of those  total cranks who sit around at home and never do anything.. just incase the pager m,ight go off..

The fanatics are out there..... weve had a few pass through the brigade over the years. Had one leave his family in the next town (20Kms away)..... thought that was a bit rough!

Yes Just Direct Page The Captain With A Message Like That Make It Sound As If Every One Is Invited & Don't Tell The Captain, So When He Gets The Message Hes Like What The Expecting A Whole Lot Of People To Start Rocking Up.

i wouldnt worry about what people put over the GRN opnly thing you can be concerned about is puttign personal details out eg phonen numbers, adresses etc...

One That I Have Seen A Few Times Is The Door Codes For The Stations Being Sent Out To Members When Its Changed. Anyone Could See It Or Even Past Members Which Is Not Good, However I Don't Believe There Has Been Any Issues.

As For Using Scanners To Respond To The Station Or Get Ready Prior To The Call I Don't Think SHQ Would Be 2 Happy.

door codes?? thats just stupid.

as for people responding themselves (or attempting to) i have heard a certain HAZMAT brigade come up on scanner several tmes and just happen to inform state they have a crew.. just incase... whenever a HAZMAT is paged to anyone within a reasonable distance...

Why not? How would it affect them?

Dont forget a lot of people are oblivious to computers and especially the net. To them the GRN paging system is a safe and secure system.

There would only be a few people in my brigade who would even go looking for that kind of thing (the paging site... not the codes!) The others I told were genuinely surprised that it could be done.
