Don't MFS have "Vehicle Accident" in their response categories as well or is it just a comcen operator who just finds it easier use the same response type for all MVA's??

Not sure but part of the RCR directory requires all MVA's in the country to have the 1st nominated rescue responded as well. It could be that if the operator only puts the incident in as MVA Spill or Vehicle Accident or similar only a single appliance response would be sent. If the operator sends the incident down as an RCR it will not only bring up the fire response but keep the SES happy and place them on the page as well if they are the first nominated rescue. Food for thought only.

Not sure about MFS but i believe it is now CFS policy to respond rescue to all MVAs because there have been several cases where the caller has said no-one trapped but there has been therefore delaying rescue.

It says in the RCR directory that fire and rescue is to be responded to all MVA's outside Metro Adelaide, it has been this case for quite sometime, but skirkmoe's reasoning sounds about right for MFS paging

Region One put a motion regarding this issue. Not sure which way it was but i'll find the info tonight and post it on here. It's nothing solid but just for interest sake.

12:10:11 28-04-06 RESERVE: MT_CRAWFORD NAME: MICK PHONE: (phone#> DETAILS: 2 FOX TERRIERS CHASED KANGAROOS IN JUPITER CREEK & UNABLE TO LOCATE

Hopefully the kangaroo's escaped OK. Pity the poor forest ranger who received this page and would now have a hard choice to make. I though domestic animals were not allowed in the forest ?

Are they having trouble finding the fox terriers, or the kangaroo?
