Seeking '40s era uniform or pattern
« on: February 16, 2006, 01:35:22 AM »
Hi guys, Im looking for an old uniform exactly like the one on this website:
http://www.armorantiques.com.au/AU-Item52.htm

The gentleman said that one is sold, so I am on the lookout for another.

Or a pattern of said uniform.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks very kindly,
-Jason Adams

Jason for a pattern try the mob who supply the CFS dress uniform (think its Stewart and Heaton). The cut looks similar to the CFS dress uniform - failing that try SAMFS store - I think their dress uniform is also a similar cut ... they may be able to point you in the right direction

CFA have their own tayloring section the uniform you are looking at is the old type that came in the early 1970's now the clothing section  used to be in mulgrave (vic) They had a add a few months ago in the FIREMAN newspaper selling some old backing .. My suggestion would be to make contact with a cfa brigade as i know there are still some old turnout jackets in service... Now if you ask me nicely I can make a few calls, contact me off line let me know what year ya looking at and I shall see how my contacts in cfa can help me...([email protected])
