An article that i found says that human factors and ergonomics research finds that lime-yellow fire vehicles are less likely to be invovled in accidents.

the article can be found at

http://www.psychologymatters.org/solomon.html

the name of the article is Fire trucks are supposed to be red, right? not if you want to reduce accidents.

With all the beacons, spider lightss, strobes we have nowadays as well as the reflective striping, colors are less important. Unless the truck was black or something. lol

All of that jazz can hinder visibility of a night time. US studies have shown that amber lighting is the most effective of a night time, stationary on the roadside.

True when I started in EFS we had red trucks as well as white Belair had a red one and Bridgewater and a few others,I think the word Donald McArthur had something to do with the change to what is now.

Pity when you get a new appliance they dont have turbos as standard...ala 24P slugs
