What exactly do you do and learn in the chainsaw course?

How to properly maintain the chainsaw, cleaning procedues and then how to use it, how to cut downed trees. The TAFE course we did, does not covers felling trees.

I dont think the course teachs you to cut down trees but rather cut up tree branches on the ground......

Hence "how to cut downed trees" and "The TAFE course we did, does not covers felling trees."

Someone did say  that CFS where looking at doing the full TAFE course so as you could drop a tree if you had too...may be that is what part of the budget money is for.

I learnt off my grandad last holidays when I was helping him down on the farm.  Thinking about doing a CFS course then I  can have more certificates and is something to go on a resume as a qualified chainsaw dude :-)
