Bushfire Warning Message - Onkaparinga Gorge
4:40 PM 5 December 2006

The CFS advises that a fire at ONKPARINGA GORGE near CHAPEL HILL ROAD BETWEEN CHAFFY AND BLEWITT SPRINGS ROADS poses a threat to public safety.

The ONKAPARINGA GORGE fire is travelling in a SOUTHERLY direction towards CHAPEL HILL ROAD BETWEEN CHAFFY AND BLEWITT SPRINGS ROADS.

You should take shelter in your home or shelter in a solid structure immediately. Close all doors and windows, stay inside until the fire front has passed.

After the fire front has passed, you should immediately begin to check your home and extinguish anything that is burning.

You should not enter or return to the area as access is restricted and the roads may not be safe.

Firefighters are attending to this fire.

Multiple strike teams heading or arrived at fire. The aircrane is heading to site along with other aircraft.
