Its hard to pick with out being there, i must admit the pics do make it look very casual, but the containers may have been sealed still, hence the relaxed nature.

I agree numbers, who makes a DSU dark blue when there predominately going to be used in a low vis environment. Superpass DSUs are not to bad, at least you can see them a little better in the dark.

All Equipment discussion / Re: Auto vs Manual Transmissions
« on: October 31, 2008, 09:35:46 AM »
I think auto has huge advantages in a urban area, ease off use, your concentration is 100% on the road, 2 hands on the wheel etc etc, not having driven a offroad truck with auto i cant comment to its good / bad points, so ill leave the criticism to those that have!

A good way to build a close knit brigade is to involve the families in the BBQs, fun days or what ever. This allows for wife's, partners, kids to mix and socialise with the others families. It also stops to wife's & partners getting cranky because your doing a CFS thing again.

We used to have cricket / football days against the other local brigades and involve all the families, they were awesome. They usually ended at someones house in a not so sober state.

« on: September 13, 2008, 12:01:33 PM »
My comment still stands about differing BMI readings and interpreting them, people are different shapes and sizes doctors discretion needs to be applied to this rule.
Unless you are someone the size of Jarred pre subway diet... :-)

Country Fire Service / Re: not to go on roof
« on: September 13, 2008, 11:45:19 AM »
Ah the good ol working at heights debate. We have a no working beyond a 2mtr height without fall arrest equipment at work. There benefit is huge but in an emergency services sense a pain in the rear. We had to have out roof top monitor converted to remote control because of them.
