ok so why not? why do we get sent to tree downs ? and CFS offer a course? ( which is a very beneficial course)

Does this mean that if we all go and buy some other piece of equipment that isn;t standard CFS will fall into line?

is there paperwork to "suggest" standard stowage items???

ill be filling it out for: AED, Oxygen, Basic Vehicle Stablisation Kit, Chainsaw, two stage pump, Lighting Kit(batterypack built in...if you saw these, you'd throw away the generators immediately)

Should a chainsaw be standard stowage on all appliances, even though there are numerous brigades around that don't get calls to trees down, because there are none....!?

Chainsaws are "approved" stowage, not "standard" sotwage.  There is a difference, and alot of paperwork ie hazard assessments, modifications to lockers etc.

We  got given a chainsaw five years ago still yet to do a job with it. We even manged to fit it in the appliance with all the other approved, standard and why the heck not gear we have.

We don't have a nearby SES unit that do the trees for us as we have really good land holders that got rid of all those pesky trees for us.

Speaking of chainsaws, what age to you have to be to get the chainsaw ticket through CFS? assuming 18 as most of those equipment courses are...?

so are really good SES types standard stowage, approved stowage, or only for those Brigades that can rort the system. And where do you store them?...i mean the fuels locker would be the first thought....but it would only fit one small person, and theres not much chance of getting one of those AND a rooly good one at their job....

Is there a course u can take at STC to learn how to use one?
