SES have decided that we should have truck mounted RCR pumps but only have 2wd trucks we are lucky that most roads around here hold up ok in the rain but some roads dont also country roads have paddocks along the sides cars tend to end up out in them if its wet and boggy we cant get out there in the truck.

we have a problem do we a) wait for a 4wd fire appliance with rescue gear on board to come and take over or b) undo the pump and walk in with the gear.

at the moment if its to wet to take the truck in we carry the gear

yep granted that fact that the skills you have you need even when it rains but is it worth going in the rain for 2 hours to do a drill that you do slower then a turtle can move get wet cold end up sick and cant work for the next week will you pay my wages???

if you have the room you can do inside things knots and lines team building then use the nights that are not wet to do outdoor things

our local CFS have had someone want to do BA this guy should not be doing BA he cant even run a pump on a newish 34 (izuzu). yet the captain has said he can and sent him for a medical after he went to state about the group saying he couldn't do the course. this guy is unsafe can not see in the dark or dim lighting cant even tell which is his truck most of the time.

i witnessed him climbing in to our Rescue truck which has SES rescue written all over it then he climbed in to the MFS appliance which is red and the same size as our truck before he eventually found the CFS 34 like you can miss that massive thing.

he has had multiple complaints against him and the other BA operators have said they will not respond with him as a BA operator, should the brigade risk losing 5 crew over 1 what can the rest of the crew do to stop this from happening he is a risk to the crew and the public????????????????

my mistake i forgot how much of a cowboy attitude some CFS members have and it seems to me that they are on here.

This is the first time that we have been invited to join in the field day and we were asked by someone who tried to get rid of us it seems to me that some of you have small man syndrome and well guess what you will get over it

i had an honest question and you all made your selves sound like a bunch of jack offs and you say you have the CFS best intentions??????

we used to have a shortage of day time drivers but we also had a regional officer working from our station so he would drive during the day if the drivers couldn't respond he was also an RCR operator but has now moved to a new office
