Our pumper is off line for who knows how long due to rust and we are using the region spare to do our rural work and our 34 as a urban appliances...Would be nice if we could get a pumper from the mfs or the old belair pumper that is floating around.....

The Naracoorte brigade has members who are trained in rope rescue,a cave rescue team is guided by a member of the parks team  the rescue technically comes under the control of parks. So no we are not accredited in cave rescue on rope rescue..

« on: October 25, 2006, 03:47:42 PM »
We have a number of q/fills on appliances with in the group as well as some trailer mounted q/fill pumps,I think these are a must for all brigades as you can always set the pump up around water tanks that are in hard to get loactions and where there is no main's water supply. I dont know why CFs dont make a q/fill part of the rural kit and you can mount it under the tray of any appliances like CFA have done...

Well lets make the deadline 45 days, but there need to be some consultation with all CABA brigade's before it comes in...I dont know about you guys but I am sick of all these rules that you are only informed of when you show up at a course.if the people at training can follow the flow of information how are we to know... I am not knocking the team that do training but time we all had the information before we got there....

Its a little harsh and there needs to be some lean way its very hard to get a on a course in the first place and to introduce these new rules is some what silly. I can understand if your say 60days over due but to be 6 or 20 days is some waht madness and will only push members away from wearing the sets...So who made up this rule as I have not seen any paperwork or memo come from CFS TRAINING....

I think you will find in time that alerts will be gone as we are ment to be promoting triple zero(000) as the main number to call if you look at all new command cars they all have 000 on it....

I can tell you that when the CFA went from local brigades/groups and staff stations taking calls that there was and in some areas still are people who dislike the CAD system. But all in all it works well, paid staff now don't have to sit at the station and wait for the phone call instead they are out doing what firefighters do best and that is community education and inspections as well as on station drills. The volunteers no longer have to make sure that someone will answer the phone or that the radio base is manned, but above all it makes life easy once things are are done correctly.

I am not saying MFS or CFS do a bad job but to have one call and dispatch center will be great to the comunity that we serve....

Give it back to the cadet leader tell him he should have given you new gear when you became a member of the senior brigade and tell him to wash it....
