« on: July 19, 2009, 09:09:25 PM »
Yeah, does look good. Was in Pt Lincoln last weekend & checked it out while i was there.3 bays each for the CFS & SES. Will be much easier access for the CFS as ive heard things are abit squishy there at the monent with the appliances.
The MFS are getting a new station built in lincoln also, directly behind the new CFS/SES sheds-it's HUGE!

Thank you all for your input. Hicksflat is correct, everything is going by the book. The committee is working within the regulations & region is aware of this event. They have approved & are supporting the concert. All of the money raised is going back through the brigades fundraising accounts. When it was mentioned 'spend as they wish' it was in the terms of the rather than the fundraising money going to the group as a whole, it is divided between the brigades to spend back at brigade level.

IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN PURCHASING TICKETS, THERE ARE A LIMITED NUMBER AVAILABLE, SO GET IN QUICK!!!!!!!!

Money made from this fundraiser will be divided among the participating brigades to spend how they wish. Our brigade would use the money to buy and upgrade equipment for the trucks and station. With a new station, there are things that would help make our 'home' more confortable. The money would help with training resources and equipment for the cadets.
Any money raised would help us cross off items on out 'wish list'. :-)

Country Fire Service / Re: Helmets - wearing the wrong one
« on: June 03, 2007, 02:21:36 PM »
hmmm thats a worry... i cant imagine how many times my helmet has gone for a tumble due to various reasons..... :P

also re; the lifespan, that sucks.... i dont think they make our helmets anymore do they ?  cairns 660s.....

You can still buy Cairns 660 helmets in white, not in yellow!  Have just placed order for some in the last week with our supplier.

We also have rural and structural, but rural dont get used much as members perfer wearing structural helmets.

Country Fire Service / Re: This years call rates
« on: May 20, 2007, 08:44:00 AM »
Not exactly, i understand it goes on an average no. of callouts over the last 5 yrs,how many appliances you have,If you are BA,RCR or HAZMAT,then you are entitled to xtra funding accordingly. The average no. of callouts will put you into a catagory of either a A+,A,B,C or D.Each catagory is then funded the same base rate with the xtra funding added where applicable.

Sounds all very interesting!  :-o Does this mean that brigades will be getting a private allocation of funding, or will groups be given the amount for each brigade?

Also, do you know roughly how many calls would fit into what bracket (Would it be > 400 = A+ and < 5 = D?)?
Finally, any idea how much extra funding is allocated for specialities? (Are we talking $200 extra, or $20,000 extra?) :|

some of the funds will still be held as usual by groups with some also held at regional level.
An A+ brigade is 150+ callouts per year, A brigade is 76- 149 per year & goes down from there with D- 0-6 per year.
About $250 per BA set & around $1000 for RCR & HAZMAT.

The new funding for brigades will start with the new budget year so some brigades will be happy and other wont.... It basically works like this the more calls you do the more money you get,the number of appliances you have and other activates you do..... Wont to know more I would say get along to your next group meeting....coming to a fire station near you
Thats a bit odd Bill cause we heard we'd actually be getting less in our budget next year (Even though we've been busier this year). That to me sounded like the funding had already been set at a fixed rate.  :?

If first picture is enlarged,a 'P' plate can be seen upside down on the rear parcel shelf, directly behind rear view mirror.
