I was right, i was telling someone the other day that MFS will be doing all the paging and he said I was wrong....but then again I have had a few people say that if MFS dont do it then SAFECOM will set a a unit to do it all.....

Dont care who does it just as long as they have trained operators unlike the current situation.

And they follow the guidelines

Be realistic...

We do a dangerous job thats it!

If someone gets hurt every now and then so be it.  We cant wrap everyone in cotton wool!

If your not willing to put your life on the line then you shouldnt be in the fire service!  You can do as much preventive work as you want but people will still get hurt occasionally.  And lets face it the record for the CFS is pretty good!

I know its harsh and sounds like i dont give a scheiße but im just being realistic!

Maybe the only stations will be ones in towns and will be paid because no one will be willing to volunteer?

Just gotta remember when responding an appliance be it on the fire ground or on the way there, Take a deep breath and think twice about your decisions.  Better off taking a bit longer to get somewhere then to hurt one or all of your crew mates.

Intresting point Bajadas?

Would the SES & CFS/MFS merge?

Put it this way - I wouldnt wanna be doing the SES vollies jobs (except RCR) and they probaly dont wanna be doing mine.  But i guess there is nothing wrong with SES vollies joining the SA Fire & Rescue Service (SAFRS) to continue their current jobs?

Or maybe we pass all tree jobs onto the council and anything deemed a rescue is handled by the fire service?

I just had a thought What if we removed the crew decks from all appliances and made it so you either fought the fire on foot or where in the cab?

Crew decks may not be used much in the hills but out in the sticks they are used alot.

Remember the state doesnt finish at Mt Barker!

Really good book for any firefighter....certainly opens your eyes.

All i can say is make sure you have a guideline!

but what do you do if that person is the only person that has the experiance to be captain?

Do you elect a new captain who doesnt have the years of experiance but has as much training as possible

or do you stay with the current captain and put up with the BS?

There is a file somewhere on the net that reveals all levels...not sure where i found it.

To pass the levels forget your fire training.  Dont bother working in pairs as you wont get stuff done quick enough.
