NEW TRUCK ARRIVING WITHIN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS TRAINING IS ESSENTIAL PLS PH PAUL FOR FURTHER DETAILS NEXT WEEK
CFS - Yahl Info
Looks like you miss out again Camo?

Our truck is only 13 years old this year so will be a few more years until we see another one.

We are meant to be getting a new station by the end of this financial year though!  Wont fully believe it until the truck is parked in it.

I was told there wouldnt be any new trucks in our group until next year cos they wont fit in any of the current stations.

I was in a brigade that had a rule along the lines of.

Attend training at least once every three months & callouts once every 6 months.

I think that was it.  Pretty relaxed but was at least some grounds to keep vollies active.

Its not that hard Rob...Alot of people have no problems passing.

I see tonight that the CFS as a whole has had to cancel numerous training courses because of 'budgetry concerns' which amount to $1.5M of savings.

Seems that Level 3, BA and other courses are suffering.

Looks like we might have to start meat raffles at the pub again to get ourselves trained, or just train ourselves and save more money.

Anyone with any guff on what is happening?  This has affected our brigade considerably.

This is BS!  This is what the ESL was meant to fix!  About time our government got off there donkey's and reinstated the original ESL levy or fix it some other way.

Your a hero Robert 34

Spent a couple of hours at a Garden Mulch Plant.  Mulch piles had self combusted.

Bomber 583 did 2 drops.  Wandilo 34, Compton 24 & Mil Lel 34 plus Wandilo Tanker.  As well as 4 Firekings and about 2 Forestry Tankers.

Bit of overkill but was a great photo op.  Only problem was i didnt have a camera!

If first picture is enlarged,a 'P' plate can be seen upside down on the rear parcel shelf, directly behind rear view mirror.

Good eyes.  You must of been good at "Where's Wally"

Unsure of the SOP here but i was informed the other day that new members arent to be issued with PPE until their BFF1 course and are not allowed to take part in training until the BFF1 course as well.

Is this an actual SOP or just a stupid rule within our group?

One reason given was they arent covered by insurance until they complete their BFF1 but i would of thought they would be as soon as they sign the membership book.

As for getting back to the thread purpose within this post, I can't imagine ever being involved in this process as a mere volunteer pleb. I haven't even heard SACAD mentioned nor seen any maps of our area as a volly. I hope I'm wrong in thinking it will be just another example of where the group does the lot and barely consults the brigades, let alone the firefighters

Its a big worry isnt it?  Pity our group is run by a bunch of......  I better leave it there.

There is a fine line between constructive posting and dribble... Post counts and " Rewards " for posting can often lead to dribble...

Responding to this thread if you havent got a helpful comment could be seen as adding to your post count.   :-D :-D :-D

Just like this post  :-D :-D :-D

Surely your not suggesting MFS use too much water on a job

No more to the point of it would take a long time to get to remote areas therefore there is no need for CFB only overhaul as the house would be gutted before anyone arrived.

But im sure you knew what she was talking about anyway.

Hey Camo...remember we have have had this thread before and lots of suggestions

Specifically 13th August 2006...see previous thread http://www.safirefighter.com/boards/index.php?topic=730.msg14692#msg14692

If we are going to talk about it lets actually do it and not almost a year later again :-D

I put the idea to CFS last year and they said they were too busy....Fair enough

So ive decided to take things on myself and organise one for the coming financial year 2007/2008.

My reasoning for a Financial calendar rather then a jan-dec calendar is our busiest time is over the summer and it sucks having important dates over 2 calendars.
