Crew for OTH A34, Para Tanker and for Strike team vehicle reqd for Clare tomorrow leaving station at 05:30 back early evening. Please SMS David on 0438 807 678. - CFS One Tree Hill Info

Why would you pull a strike team out of a group that is in a TFB tommorow to go to an area not in TFB?

Regardless of FDR there is still a huge number of resources in the hills. 5 trucks doesn't  make much difference.

Cut them out the fleet than save some $$$$ that could be spent elsewhere  :-P

23-12-12 10:51:45 STATE LEVEL OF PREPAREDNESS IS CATASTROPHIC - ALL ON-CALL STAFF ATTEND SCC IMMEDIATELY - SC THOMASON - CFS Headquarters Info

Weather Forecast less than accurate again! How can the Government expect everyday people to "PREPARE ACT SURVIVE" when the forecast Fire Danger Ratings are in accurate...I know weather is hard to predict but i think in this situation media releases should go out advising the community that infact the current FDI rating in your area is .... Some of the current FDI readings in some areas are twice as much as forecast!

Great idea getting the heads up out being so close to Christmas and allowing crew planning!

I was at Coomunga day 1,2,3,4 and saw crews on "Yank 34" do some interesting things. None of which would effect the appliance physically but made me scratch my head! Surely it can't be a write off if it got driven Pt Lincoln - Adelaide! Funnier things have happened I guess.

nothin has even filtered down to us about a deisel shortage.

I don't think there has been anything official come out and I don't think it will really effect the service I was just wondering if anyone at any level had put anything in place!

Hi guys anyone been effected as of yet by the shortage? What have you or groups or regions put in place in case of shortage? Having said that our supplier says flows should be back to normal within a week!

I think mostly any damage is usually done in the heat of battle like dents, scratches and broken things, however if you do notice a crew on an appliance being reckless say something at the time :) and I agree yea it's great brigades take pride in appliances but lets not forget what their made for!

« on: October 18, 2012, 03:27:49 PM »
I did a bit of research and i think there has been 9 fire bans already in SA, Surely this must be nearly a record!

I also noticed today the FDI reached 110 at oodnadatta - After being on holidays up through the far north and to Alice Springs the outback is once again a ticking time bomb waiting for a spark.

Anyone else with observations from around the state? seems the winter/spring season has shut of very early this year and maybe the BOM are right we are heading in to a drier period.

03-10-12 20:54:18   Page acknowledged to Adelaide Fire by LT2. LT2 unavailable to attend incident. - CFS Forreston Info

Annnd  :?

No point acknowledging a response if your not attending the incident/station. The person acknowledging page is taking responsibility that the appliance will go mobile.

Errrr how does acknowledging a page with A fire deem you responsible for getting the appliance out of station?  Seems to me he was obviously performing his roles roles set out to him!

Storm in a tea cup! No biggy really! "Play on"

Baggy, time for you to go back to school. If not to confirm the truck will respond what do you think the purpose of acknowledging is? And yes. That person is taking responsibility, somethin the CFS is very poor at recognizing.

I must be mis guided...I thought we were to acknowledge receipt of page with A Fire than book mobile when responding in appliance.. Is that incorrect?

Adelaide Fire takes the call and has the responsibility to respond resources, once they ack the responsibility lies on them to get out the door. There is a second timer that starts when a resource acks, but this is another ten minutes, and let's be honest. 6 to ack, plus 10 to mobile is way too long and a brigade/unit should have defaulted themselves well before that point.

So we do acknowledge the page? Than acknowledge we are mobile? Just as I thought! And if u think 16 min from drop of page to the truck leaving the shed is to long and should default brigades  across the state would never get out the shed! Not every brigade can be mobile in 6 min! Anyway we could debate for ever! Ur right though there are toooo many variations out there!

NYPG;REMINDER THERMAL IMAGE CAMERA TRAINING TONIGHT 1930 HRS AT THE GROUP CENTRE FROM GO

I reeallly hope this isnt one of the few CFS have just purchased, seeing as there are already atleast 2 TIC's at MFS stations in very very close proximity to that group it could have possibly been served better elsewhere.

Ah well.

I think you may find the R2 ops brigade guys bringing there's up for some general training...I may be wrong though

100
No.

They were supposed to get one - date all determined, and for whatever reason, it was not delivered, and I believe reallocated to another brigade.

Pip
Ok surprised its deemed available in SACAD if they didnt get it.

Soo if it made it as far as being entered in to CAD and than at last minute was not delivered it must have been a drastic change in appliance allocation for this to happen??
