Hey mate.
That intersection (and the first part of Bains Rd) is Happy's area.
Morphett Vale's area is from Lovick Rd heading South, and the other 2/3 of Bains Rd.

How do you operate your "ex SAPOL Motorola XTS3000 radio" legally? Just interested to know - thought you'd need a license or something  :?
When I had it - It was Rx only. No Tx capability.
However it was quite limited compared to my current scanner (UBCD396XT).

Anyone from Salisbury CFS here?
Does it annoy you that the FFRS pager messages come through with the CFSRES alert tone?
It goes to the response capcode, which means the Para Group Officers receive the message too.

FFRS ALERT: DRIVER AVAILABILITY IS BELOW MINIMUM NUMBERS: DRIVERS PLEASE UPDA TE FFRS *CFSRES - CFS Salisbury Response

Any more progress on being able to programme the old 'tone 7' callout tone into the Apollo Gold pagers?

Thought I seen a message on the paging site the other day from a Brigade offering to change their members pagers to tone 7... can't remember who is was though.

This msg was just sent out.
"CRML INFO: Reminder to members with a black apollo pager and wish to have your response tone changed come to training monday night one time only bco 0427****** - CFS Coromandel Valley Info"

How can this be done!??!

SA Firefighter General / Newbie buying a UBCD396XT
« on: October 08, 2013, 06:31:30 PM »
Hi everyone,
I will probably be buying a Uniden UBCD396XT from Jim at ozscan for $380.
It will come with SAGRN emergency services pre-programmed.
Does anyone have any feedback (good or bad) about this scanner? Is it a good buy?
I currently have a ex SAPOL Motorola XTS3000 radio, but I want to upgrade, and get a scanner that is a but smaller in size. (If anyone wants this radio, I will probably be selling it soon)
Also, If I ever want to change the channels etc for the radio, is it easy to do? If so, is it by using freescan?
I guess my concern is, when updates come through and published on ozscan's blog, will it be easy for me to install?
I am a no0b when it comes to scanners, but I am quite tech-savvy.

Also, I assume the UBCD396XT picks up the current analogue GRN transmissions.

Thanks everyone.

Is it just me, or should this kind of information be kept for when you call Adelaide fire on phone / radio?
And I know people can listen into the radio, but the amount of people that would find out via radio instead of the pager feed would be substantially less.

SA Firefighter General / Strathalbyn SES and Strathalbyn CFS
« on: August 04, 2013, 09:47:17 PM »
Hey.
I was checking out Strathalbyn SES and CFS, and I noticed that Strathalbyn SES have a 91 with rescue equipment, and Strathalbyn CFS have a 34P with rescue gear. (according to fire-brigade.asn.au)

So both Strathalbyn emergency services have road crash? If so, do they respond together? Or do they have separate response areas?
