Somehow I can't see Burnside Pumper being relocated to another brigade, so no sense "drooling" over it. :-D Regardless of the level of risk you think you might have in your area.

Bahahahaha

Country Fire Service / Re: active time on a fire ground
« on: May 13, 2013, 01:18:03 PM »
hi all just wondering if you guys know the max time one is allowed on a fire ground. as far as im aware its 12 hours but i could be wrong.

12 hours is generally the standard CFS shift but can vary for many reasons. Having said that we all know that rarely 12 hours is all you do for once again many varied reasons. Usually 3 x 12 hour shifts day or night than a couple days off for rest is the norm!!

But hey nothing is normal when fire is involved!!!

Country Fire Service / Re: Rotation program of appliances
« on: May 03, 2013, 09:31:02 PM »
It's not just state that says xx gets a new one or xxxx gets a refurb Regions have a big input in Appliance rotations within their region!

Service as a whole still does extremely well with amount of new appliances!

26-03-13 21:03:00   FYI: PREV REQUESTED STRIKE TEAMS HAVE BEEN STOOD DOWN BY THE STATE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE. RDO - CFS Wattle Range Group Officers Info

Another example of why strike team crews are hard to get. I think you can understand when a strike team within your own region gets asked for than cancelled within the hour but an intra region strike team I personally think its not up to scratch.

Surely activating a intra region strike team is not a split second decision and proper planning and thought would be given to this??

Or was this instance a split second decision as I did notice one of the "highly trained" level 3 IMT's have hold of this job

Oh please not hashtags here aswell!

All for a laugh n something different....can't seem to get a like button so hash tags is next best option haha

12-03-13 13:28:34 All members note, as already discussed, AB 24 is our rural appliance. I DO NOT CARE WHAT THE PAGE FROM ADELAIDE FIRE SAYS. Capt - CFS McLaren Flat Info

And that is how you end up with your appliance being defaulted.

paging2 must have the wrong code assigned to aldinga.  paging1 showed up correct
[/quote

At Sellicks, not far from Aldinga, we've been told by Kyeema Group to respond in what seems appropriate, as A/F have messed up before.

Mr Raven.

Do not confuse yourself or others.

Adelaide Fire has not "messed up".

Adelaide Fire has sent the response as per the SACAD data entered.

Please seek out accurate information before posting.

Thanks

EXACTLY...I went over our brigades response data with neighbouring brigades before entry into SACAD to make sure it was correct. unsure if your brigade did the same RAVEN if not I'd be asking why the brigade didn't ave the opportunity!

Surprise surprise our group has no issues....what is the saying...Proper Preparation prevents p*ss poor performance!!

Unsure if related but I rang few guys and asked around a little bit and rumour is CFA have or are considering a request for assistance and with R5 flat out crews will come from further up the line. Probably unrelated but ho knows!  Seems odd I agree te monarto fire has had little coverage or info on size... I did see a thank you posted by CFS Facebook from the monarto brigade.

R2 cancelled though and then R1 asked later? Not sure which resources have actually gone but seems odd. Would be interested to know the full story.

Normally if you request a inter region strike team to leave ASAP it doesnt get cancelled within the hour...a bit more planning than that goes in to it.

I see they are now responding local resources back to the job.

Think this could be the second lot cancelled today???

Bit off the topic but ive noticed that there has been all but no media coverage of fires around the place lately. Like the fire near Monarto? Seems appliances have been attending in various forms since friday night but nothing on the news? Are these types of incidents not newsworthy because they arent closer to the city?

I agree mate right across the state in last 4 days has been incredibally busy!!
