Title: Fire Danger Ratings 24-12-11
Post by: Bagyassfirey on December 24, 2011, 01:23:06 PM
ive been flicking around looking at some current FDI's around the northern and western part of SA. I have noticed the FDI's are considerably higher than forecast and in some areas exceed 50. which in turn if ws predicted would incur a TFB. Its strange how they can be sooo far out with forecast FDI.

1430 hrs @ Roseworthy FDI = 53.1

1430 hrs @ Snowtown FDI = 56.8

1430 hrs @ Cummins FDI = 71

1430 hrs @ Wudinna FDI = 81 (not much higher than forecast)

Not sure what our fdi would be now but it's pushing 38 degrees and a 15/20 knot NW compared to a 5 to 10 knot SE and 34 prediction.... Just a lil out haha

Might wanna keep an eye on Saturday and Sunday the FDI's look to skyrocket as result of the hot weather

I wonder if weather in general is becoming harder to predict? Seems more and more things happen different to the general forecast! Or maybe we are just becoming very demanding!

Anywho "play on"
