SA Firefighter General / Professional Firey Qualifications

What constitutes a qualified fire fighter? I recently received an email, it was from a CFS Fire Fighter, he stated on the email that he was a qualified fire fighter!!!! This has been sent to many people, he also listed that he was a licenced .trade. (Do you need to put a Lic Number as well). I'm lead beleive it has also been put onto business cards.
Is it just me, or does it seem that it is written as a, "I WISH I WAS"!!!!
I reckon that if you are going to put a title to your name at the end or a communication you should back it up with a level, similar to what is done with diploma’s and degrees. Or better still leave it off. Unless this is your primary income and you have adequate proof.
In my industry we typically put Emergency Services Officer, but if the email is not work related we leave it off.

? Or being paid? years of experience??? Haveing a red stripe or a yellow hat?? You tell me.
