What i find odd is that there is only provisions for first and second rescues in cad, if you need a third and the rarest occurences fourth rescue comms have to go to Region as to who gets responded.
What if the first and second rescues are involved and another one occurs in the area, does comms then have to go to region?

The other point is why on earth are non BA brigades being tagged in structure fire upgrades, at the moment if we upgrade in our primary area the next alarm level pulls 2 non BA brigades.

SA Firefighter General / Re: CFS using K-codes
« on: December 04, 2011, 09:38:39 AM »
cfs can use K codes 0,1,4 and 5 now as thats what shows up in cad. when u book, offline, mobile, clear of call and back at station.

And when it is busy and there are many brigades coming up together the use of those could allow quicker radio transmissions ( just depends on how competent the appliance radio operator is)

The current SEM build of 34p is a step back in time with the missing full length drivers side locker and most if not all RCR brigades would struggle to fit an RCR kit and 4 BA sets on that appliance, and i think you could forget any RCR equipment on an U/R 34

hmmm i had heard 6 and 12, and thought those times were from time of page. Hopefullya quiet night monday night otherwise if its busy they may not cut it over???

It would have to be pretty drastic weather or similar for the cutover to not be done. Even if there is a major job happening i would expect it to still go ahead, may just delay an hour or two. There is a lot of pressure to get it on with that deadline.

Not sure exact time you can expect to see SACAD dispatching, multiple incident procedure will begin at some point on the night shift of 28/11 and dispatching will still be conducted by BOMS, and then with a bit of luck it should be all sorted by the early hours of the 29th.

Sounds good Alex.
From the looks of some of the test responses there are some Fubar ones happening so i expect there to be a few grievances lodged, but give it time and it will be good i reckon

You might be holding onto your hat there for a while Rob, could take months for your pager to go off with a sacad response  :-P  :-D

4x Goliath lights. Very good lights, cold to touch, easily strapped to anything or sat in their stand. Cheap as well compared to some of the systems mentioned above, and far more appropriate for close quarters work, eg: RCR

We have the same and agree with numbers, great for RCR work.

We have a set of 3 square lights that are flourescent, came with stands which are cumbersome to setup hence we dont use the stands but the lights can be setup on the ground can be setup on a car for rcr work, cost us 600 for 3 i believe from fire and rescue... and also believe we are looking at portable LED ones to add to that too
They are able to be setup in very good time compared to the halogen on stands and dont strain the generator because they use very little power

there should be absolutly no need for groups DO's or bases to be involved for incidents that have not been upgraded,, as a Group officer why get out of bed or stop what you are doing for small jobs.
