It seems that the simplest issues are never easy to fix...
Maybe we should discuss this idea further??
Or just get over it??

54
Or a spare mfs appliance from somewhere?? LOL

55
But depending on where you are most blue collared jobs can guarantee more than 2 or three hours worth of work a week...

Ah, the whole reason this thread was invented!! A good old respond to bird stuck in tree call. There was a possum in tree the other day, but forgot to post it!!

You're soprt of right pumprescue, There is definitely a clause in the employmen contract saying retainees must make it to the station for 50% of the calls, and ride for 50% of the times they make it, but as far as I can see it is up to the individual stations to enforce these.

If getting your quota of firies is difficult, then you are going to be less likely to give someone the flick, as opposed to a station that has a waiting list for people to join (not actually sure if there is a station in this category at the moment tho??)

58
One way to stop getting those annoying installation calls... lol

17:59:41 21-06-08 PRIMARY ALARM, I1: STN No 51 1800 HOUR PAGER TEST, PORT AUGUSTA FIRE STATION MFS Pt Augusta Response

Does this mean that Pt Augusta have an automated system now so firies don't have to go in every night and trip the alarm tests button??

SASES / Can SES not accept a tasking?
« on: May 17, 2008, 11:36:57 PM »
Bajdas, can SES crews not accept a tasking?
Looking at page no SES were responded, so does that mean they turned it down?
If so how does that work?

My pager ID has worn off, but noticed when changing battery the other day that they also posted vital details inside.

But yeah, i think the point was if they have lost their pager, they clearly arent going to get the message are they?

« on: May 17, 2008, 11:29:15 PM »
A fire in our station would be a tragedy.  Think of all the drinks in the fridge that would be destroyed!

Truck wouldn't be damged tho Camo, it probably wouldnt even be at station. would either be at some farmers shed cos the station is being redone, or being checked for hazmat due to careless seniors....

SA Firefighter General / Re: Blue cats eyes instead of fire posts
« on: May 07, 2008, 11:46:59 AM »
The blue cats eyes have been in for a while now, and they are an additional measure i belive, so not instead of fire posts but as well as.

Also, I think that this is actually becoming (or has become) a national standard.

I think most towns now have cats eyes to mark hydrants. Mt Gambier was one of the original towns trialling this i believe?

Just thought i would point out that the @ symbol (also known as an asperand) is actually short for "at" and not "attention"
