is that picking up MFS MDT messages too?
Title: Re: GRN pager site

Id suggest not, as there are no messages that would fit that format. It appears to cover SAAS, CFS, SES and a few other misc ones.

You might find some MFS run on GRN pagers as well, Oakden being one station that does and the district officers as well, plus the retained stations.
Title: Re: GRN pager site
Post by: OMGWTF on October 27, 2005, 08:43:25 AM
that makes sense then,. i knew that district officers and retainees did (hence the 501s 509s etc and 30s 40s) but i was wondering why oakden appliances were popping up there when theyre werent any district officers being dispatched...

why do oakden use pagers?

What is the story with all the manual turnouts

some brigades use the manual response page to get extra crews to the station
Title: Re: GRN pager site
Post by: Wagon 1 on October 27, 2005, 07:10:23 PM
The Oakden 301 303 thing is on a trial, as the MDT's are fast dying, considering how old they are, you never know, if succesful they might go to pagers!!

A lot of brigades hit manual turnout to say to others that at least someone is going, Dalkeith hit a station manned button once the first person gets there.

Some do it to get more crew.
Title: Re: GRN pager site
Post by: OMGWTF on October 27, 2005, 07:52:17 PM
IMO i think pagers would be a step backwards for permanent MFS stations... the MDTs are great for them to be able to transmit basic K-codes.
Title: Re: GRN pager site
Post by: Roger on October 28, 2005, 06:28:26 AM
Oakden was having trouble with their station turnout system, so as a redundancy the officers were issued with a pager. They like them.

Ha Ha Yeah I Saw That One On The Site & Also Heard It On The News.

I Ended Up Setting The Pager Site As An Active Desktop So I Can See The Calls While I Am At Work.

What I Would Like Though Is A List Of Ambo Codes, I Have The Mets K Codes, However Don't Have The Ones The Ambos Are Using. Anyone Got Them? Would They Can To Post?

will try to follow up ambo categorys for you.. i can tell you now that cat1 and cat 2 are lights and sirens, for things like cardiac/respiratory arrest, collapses, trauma, heammoraging etc.. for example,, an MVA is a cat2...

cat3 is possibly something like a person with pain, discomfort or soem other minor illness.. but in no-immediate life threat, hence no lights or sirens...

cat 4/5/6 are differant levels of transfers i believe, couldnt tell you exactly how they are classed, but it is based on treatment required or not...

this is my interpretation only, as ebst i can remember it, but yeah no gaurantees.... however cat1's and cat2's are the exciting ones...  :-D

CD81 = Ceduna Day shift
CD181 = Ceduna Night shift

Has anyone else noticed that the Pager log stops refreshing during the day sometimes? (Like today and last friday...)

Hi Guys,

The online pager log is stopping sometimes due to my PC having a few errors. I am slowly trying to weed these out :) It should be auto updating now, sometimes.

The online audio stream is now set running with AUSTRUNK. This is great as i have set priorities on certain tg's. So it basically drops the ambo conversation for the fire action!

Just on a note the pager site recieved 600 hits today! It is a record as yet, but as i said i am trying to sort out my problems so please forgive me :)

Sam

Can you tell me how i can set this up as my active desktop without having to set up a scanner attached to my computer

Visit http://www.worldofkitsch.com/help/activedesktop.html For Instructions On Setting Up The Active Desktop.

Enter The Page As http://www.users.on.net/~jkoerner/monitor.html

Then In The Settings Disable The Offline Mode, So That You Get Current Details Not Cached Ones.

The online audio stream is now set running with AUSTRUNK. This is great as i have set priorities on certain tg's. So it basically drops the ambo conversation for the fire action!

Nice Config Regarding The Dropping Of The Ambos For The Fire Action, I Have Also Noticed That The Pager Site Has Been Up & Down Recently, I Think The Pager Site Would Be Good If The Pager Messages Were Broadcast Into An IRC Channel That Way It Would Auto Update As Soon As The Message Has Come Through.

I Have A Work Around At The Moment, However It Was Just A Thought, I Guess Your Limited By The Software Available For The Scanner Though.

I understand that the website is linked to the home computer setup. When a user wishes to use the broadband link at home, the website feed is disconnected. As well as normal technical problems linking a scanner to computer to website to internet.

Please give the guy a break for providing us something for free which would have cost him (in time, equipment, etc) to setup.

Maybe we could chip in some $$ or expertise or time to help increase and stabilise the facility.

Yeah No One Was Having A Go They Were Just Informing The User That The Link Was Down, & I Asked What Was Happening, As I Work In It, I Might Be Able To Help, That Was All.  Yeah A Paypal Would Be A Good Idea, Even If We All Just Chipped In A Little To Help With On Going DSL Prices & Setup.

Hi All,

I have determined the problem with the PC. I have PDW now running on a PC with windows 98. I have been getting very good quality with this. The network portion of the comuter has a few errors as it stops communicating with the internet, still works internally though. I have changed the card and i am now trying some other drivers. I have a celeron 800 that i am going to setup sometime on the weekend for this. The site used to run completely of my webserver at home, but now it FTP's to internodes server. I may host it from internally but with only 256k up broadband and my audio stream running the 200kb pager file becomes huge!

Anyway i will post you with progress, and thankyou all for your support.

Sam

Hi Guys and Girls,

Just at a point in time where i am looking at running a filter file on the Online pager feed. I was deciding between the following;

1. Current all addresses
2. CFS / MFS / SES
3. All filters from SA Scan Group Listing
4. Cropped list of filters

Also for option 2 & 3 names would need to be removed to keep it sort of private  :-D

Thanks From Sam
P.S. Any replies helpful

It's a pity that people don't write messages a bit nicer eg. address who it is going to and who it is from.
Took me a while to find one but this is what i mean, can't be confused with anything else.

HAPPY VALLEY INFO: *STOP CALL* :GRASS FIRE 300SQM BURNT, 34 BACK IN STATION - H/V STATION 18/01/2006 12:14:14 PMm

People need to remember there is alot of people watching pager messages and they can easily be mixed up or not understood.

Hi Guys,

Trying a few new things out with the pager feed. I have put tags on there, i am trying to get a second fire / rescue feed going, but it is taking time... If anyone has any good ID tags to donate dont hesitate!!

Thanks From Sam

Just wondering Sam is it possible to set up an archive for the site, say the previous seven days or something along those lines???
