my heart goes out to people on a 200mb Bigpong plan locked in for 24 months.. :-(

What little ye know.. You are only locked to the provider BigPond, not the plan. Customers can change plan once per bill cycle. There is nothing stopping them from going to a higher plan (or from higher to lower).

Might be that the operator's of the belief SES does Road Crash there, or clumsy with a mouse.

.. we told Adelaide Fire twice that we are not a RCR unit for this call, and even suggested Barker CFS on the initial call, but oh well.

Just wondering if you have any photos of the window stickers that where floating around on VICSES trucks awhile back. They showed members in action with the phrase "Can you see yourself in Orange" or something like that??

If not, any ideas where i might be able to locate some?

Thanks

SASES / Re: Edinburgh SES ??
« on: February 01, 2008, 08:14:15 AM »
Yeah its all to make it easier to workout where units are from.
Adelaide Hills SES is meant to be Mt Barker SES, but we still get correspondence from above to Adelaide Hills so we float between the two names.
A few other units had name changes as well i thought, I will try and find the full email at the unit.

there were pages for metro units to go to warooka to let the locals have a break yet we are in the same region and were not asked. we were only asked if we wanted to go to KI when we wanted to help out in our region we were told we were not needed.

The city crews also took supplies with them for the CFS I think..

And it took how many people to get the cat out of the tree??? Don't people own ladders anymore?

MFS: MFS *CFSRES INC024 29/01/08 09:07,RESPOND Rescue Animal,10 DA*****N AV,CRAFERS MAP 145 H 6,CAT IN TREE FOR 3 DAYS DISTRESSED LADY P,4 C*****D ********,MTB020 SES Mt Barker Response

that cat still in tree  i think its time to get the chainsaw out cut the filtered tree down it mite be the only way to get the cat out and stop it from going up it  :| :|

First page we rang the homeowner and advised her to remove her dogs from the area and call RSPCA if still up the tree the next day. So she calls SES the next day instead. The cat was out of ladder reach so it was a matter of climbing up the tree and cutting the branch the cat was on - With homeowners approval. Kitty feel about 7-10m, landed on its feet and was last seen running into a drain

Maybe SAFECOM should issue these cameras to all IMT and other key personal. That way there is a video trail of who did what when why.. just need to store the memory cards somewhere.

SA Firefighter General / Re: Reminder: CDMA closure scheduled for 28 Jan 08
« on: December 30, 2007, 05:31:47 PM »
From what i was told Optus,Telstra and Vodafone share the same towers but im not so sure once the CDMA network is closed and the 3G & Next G networks are fully in operation that Optus and Vodafone will get the same amount of full coverage that telstra will get  :?

They do share some towers but when Telstra turns off CDMA only NextG will see a difference in signal as they both run on 850mhz and clash a bit currently. 3G with Voda, Optus, even Telstra 3G runs on 2100mhz and will not have the same coverage as the NextG Network.

Several phones my brigade has still are "Sim Registration Failed"...ehhh

Make sure you turn the phone off and on every few hours so it pulls the registration info from the network. The phone doesnt always get this info on its own. It may seem stupid, but after working in a Telstra Shop for a few years you learn these things

I thought "Tent City" has been round for a few years?.. Or were they SES resuorces the last few times?

Tent City has always been a CFS resource how ever it was just about always setup and whatnot by SES crews.. SES now also have a Tent City thanks to KI there was a small bit about it on the back of this weeks Sunday Mail of how SES bought out 2 camping stores of sleeping bags, tents, etc etc..
