I have changed it back. I apologise if i have offened anyone by using this sign.

Just for reference though.

1) Only you can see the information displayed on screen, no-one else can because this is what is called a secure forum.

2) It is not a hacking program and is freely avalible to anyone.

3) I have used this signiture on another forum e.g www.games.internode.on.net and other people use it too. My father works for internode (and for those who dont know, internode is the best ISP in the country according to leading computer magizines) and i speak to the computer techs there quite often. They have already had a look at this program and it has been deamed safe to use.

If anyone has any further issues on this subject, i am happy to talk about it.

I think that the CFS bushfire seminars that happen for residents for a certain area should be compulsary for at least one member of the family. We had one the other week that stirling went to so that we could answer questions and improve PR, and only 5 people showed up out of all the people that live in heathfield. Sure, maybe some people might be working at the time of the meeting, so they should have like 3 meetings per week for 4 weeks or something.

That way we would be able to spread information like that.

People rely on us to try and protect their assets if a bushfire happens, but we need the community to help us by getting ready, doing a action plan and cleaning up around the house. They are not going to learn how to do that by themselves as years of study has been done by scientists to prepare this information for them.

Country Fire Service / Use of fire sirens
« on: April 15, 2005, 09:13:30 AM »
I think that the sirens are a goodtool to alert people in the area that something is wrong and to start using the ACTION PLAN!!

Not everyone is going to have a pager, so they dont know if something is wrong or not. It is only when they hear a siren out the front of their house that they may relize and then i might be to late to do anything.

Why pay for the training of volunteers, when the money could go towards employing/training more SAAS personell, and opening more stations...?

Because this state relies heavily on input from its vollies. You also run the risk of "flooding" the scene. I would much rather have a sensible amout of people there who can all actively add to a job, be it fire, rescue or ambo that can assist each other in the task at hand.

Efficency can be a good thing, and knowledge should be shared. Especially when a common goal is at hand....

Very well put

As a SAAS Manual Handling instructor I'd like to know if we need to make any changes?

Cheers

The patient lifts that i have been on are very well done and there is alot of teamwork between the two agencies.

I am not sure about more training. I have my senior first aid, and i know a couple of my CFS buddies, including cfs_firey who is on these forums, have done a advanced resus course. You should ask him

There is a form that you need to get from the region but also get the region camera and do the whole brigade in one night that way you will all get a new ID. The new one I have only last for one year?? Once your picture is taken its placed on ya tas for so you can get a new one each year just by calling the region.

if you have no luck there see if pip or ashes at promo unit can come along and take the pictures,or if your in the south east I also have a promo camera and am willing to travel to take pictures.

TA. i am in stirling. We had planned to get the whole brigade done when we bought our digital camera and it hasn't happened yet, i will bring it up tonight

Country Fire Service / New Helicopters
« on: April 04, 2005, 10:15:17 AM »
This is going to be sweet.

I have just been looking around and found something funny!

The AH-1 Cobra is primarly a military attack helicopter, kinda like the apache, but designed for land and sea attacks. I wouldn't mind one for the CFS!

« on: April 01, 2005, 08:22:29 AM »
Does anyone know how to get a CFS ID as i am thinking about going to the comps if the cheap rates are avalible. Our whole brigade was going to get one each when we got our new digital camera, but nothing has been arranged yet

Country Fire Service / Helicopters Arrive

I remember ebing on the fireground once, and the helicopter coming up behind us. We ran and the chopper dumped a load on the area where we were standing.

So remember people, LOOK OUT FOR THE CHOPPERS WHEN THEY ARE IN THE AIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also like the old logo better, although I'm not saying changing was a bad thing... If they had replaced it with a logo that also had meaning and was nicer (Sorry to the designer) I would be happier...

I agree, i dont mind a change but to something with more meaning like the old one had.

What do you think about the CFS logo?

I like the old one as it has meaning, while the new one is boring.
