SA Firefighter General / Re: Interesting Fire and Emergency Related Paging
« on: February 25, 2013, 09:27:32 PM »
yes i believe the brigade has used to air support, and the rcr gear was actually one of i believe 8 or so brigades that had the rcr rapid intervention, with cfs taking the stance of what it costs to maintain them, and if actual rcr coverage is needed, then a full rcr kit will be supplied, i do believe i saw a page from a brigade with a volvo pumper which did not conform to the ideals either,

SA Firefighter General / Metro SES delayed P1 response
« on: July 07, 2012, 02:02:32 PM »
I see it constantly from the metro ses units, that their priority 1 jobs seem to take a long time to get mobile,- In cfs, if the truck on the call out doesn't go mobile asap, they get defaulted automatically,

Metro ses units seem to take up to 20 mins to get mobile, they should have the same system and default automatically  to the next unit, cfs or mfs, or at least get the other unit/service mobile until they can get crew

if you require that sort of information (for offical purposes), you can aquire that via offical channels, e.g your regional HQ, i cannot see any reason why you will need them, just because you are curious

i beg to differ, doesnt matter when its called in...bike event or not, if one of the tacks or nails went into a high pressure bike tyre it can pop, and if the rider is at speed around a corner, will most probally result in injury, ...injury prevention is than the cure

No orange light yet though!!! ....
When he came into work i quizzed him on it and he told me that its is own buisness and he gets called upon to help us, the mfs and saas with there radio work and that he used to drive euan around in 1 of his 6 cars that were stored around the place ...region 1 and 4 , one at -+ and 3 at 6

i cant speak for everyone but i joined cfs for CFS, no matter what group or region or headquarters, ill put up my hand if im free, we are alll volleys and some of us will... some of us wont and the paid staff know that, so for the negative why worry? it doesnt concern you.   the people that say yes know what they are in for and are obviously happy to do the job...

hi,
just wondering what lights other brigades use for scene lighting(not run off truck)e.g lighting up front of house for ba jobs, rcr....our brigade currently use the halogen lights 2x150W on each stand, but we find the bulbs blow all the time and they are now up for replacement (the whole light) do other brigades use LED? other lights? we run ours off a generator

what brigade are you from? be intresting to know.....
