All Equipment discussion / Re: Ordering of PBI Gold
« on: May 19, 2007, 07:27:01 AM »
Wish they would make up their mind as to what to wear it to and what not to wear it to,it's strange how each region is differant in telling its Volunteers what jobs you can wear it too...tell me how many people would where PBI gold to a MVA on a hot 35 day or better still coming back from a fixed alarm are paged onto a scrub fire and your in PBI gold. If they want us to wear it then there needs to be uniformed rules on what jobs to wear it to across the state and not regions making up there own rules.

The new funding for brigades will start with the new budget year so some brigades will be happy and other wont.... It basically works like this the more calls you do the more money you get,the number of appliances you have and other activates you do..... Wont to know more I would say get along to your next group meeting....coming to a fire station near you

No point in urban brigade's supporting what they want as the group will override that or make it hard for a brigade to get what that brigade wants..was it not the group who did not want eden hills to have a type two pumper????

Well those brigade's that do lots of calls 200+ would not be able to do these calls with out the help of members who are shift workers, who have family and bosses that allow them to go to call outs. as for petrol and costing well that should not come into it,we do our job to serve and provide a community and state service to the people of SA and those other place's that we love to visit. Now and then we get a free holiday from CFS....Sorry that is a working holiday.

With out the support of our mothers/wife's, we as Volunteers would not be able to do our community work with out your help..So to all the mothers out there enjoy your day have a break and see you back in the swing of things MONDAY.Don't forget MEN its our turn to do the housework, take mum out for a meal and be her slave for one day.....

Just give them  them a type 2 pumper as this is the path that cfs have taken in gettng pumpers out into brigade's that need that type of appliances. burnside brigade are no differant than any other urban brigade in region one or region 5 there call rate has dropped down and they dont do a lot of large jobs like they used to. They should be happy with a type 2 as I know a number of brigade's who have now got a CFS type 2 pumper are thrilled with their new pumper. So does anyone really know why they dont want a type 2??..

If they have that much money to buy their own appliances well let them but who will own the appliances it will not be the brigade but the CFS...

Well if they like the station who cares what we think, sure it looks funny from the outside and I guess one day i will get to see the inside of the station, would like to see flashing lights out the front so the public know that the brigade is turning out of that station.....

Cam, old saying from one old fart (me) damned if you do and damned if you don't,but having said that and I have not woren a set in about 8 years due to my spare tyre. Its a very hard call and one that I am sure some off us  have all made before Yes I have made that call once before and to tell you the truth if the crew was willing and back up was not far away go for it. But you have to be sure that what actions you take as the OIC will be those of crew safety first. I guess if we look at this job,Cam is it in a rural area?? is it in a urban area?? Mate lets face it if its in a country rural area back up may be 20 Min's away but they may not be CABA brigade so then you have a bigger problem....
