« on: November 28, 2006, 04:53:59 PM »
Off topic but yes.
And I am not saying that region 1 has all the leaders...far from it.
Sometimes it is good to sit back and look what others do and how.
I am not saying that we should all be the same. The CFS is way to diverse
At the end of the day we all do a good job and I am just a FF trying to help others by things I try. Sometimes I win and other days well....
I stuff it up, but I am giving it a shot
PS - should you be heading to your station, just looking at the pager site

medevac they might not get it correct all the time, but they are the leaders.
You have a lot of things that theses brigades/groups have done to help you.
Just think of the training and  equipment you have.
Remember not all brigades have good appliances and a station with a toilet.
You did not have these years ago, now you have it some other brigades will say hay we need a good appliance and station with a toilet.Down the track they will get it. If we don't keep pushing none else will.
The easiest thing in the world is to sit back and complain  about others, try making improvements. It's a lot more satisfying when it works.Especially when other say look at those idiots with that, then later down the track they use it as well

Good luck to them if they get a Scania
I think it is good that some brigades/groups push the boundaries.
If they did not we would still be in the dark ages.
Funny how the brigades/groups that push the hardest are not liked by others.
But we have a lot to thank them for.

All you need is the pager ID and you can send it via email, so you don't need dial-up

Thats normal for running laps, you start at a good time  a few slower laps in the middle and then most people go faster for the last few laps.

I have been to a few jobs with the fire through the roof and 3 appliances was fine, just protected exposures and water on the fire. I have no problem with 3 appliances for jobs like that.
3 CFS appliances  could be up to 20 firefighters. How many do you need for an average size house.
Why call extra brigades out??

Incident Operations / Re: Gosselands Deployment (KI) - 131106
« on: November 16, 2006, 06:23:29 AM »
Well done to the CFS, the 1 day deployment is a top idea.
I think it will be easy to get more firefighters to KI now.
I would have never gone due to the time frame and the horror stories about accommodation and food.
Good to see some positive comments and good information on this site from ff that have been at the sharp end.
