In response to the questions posted above, Yes CFS are doing a static display based around the fire danger season campaign of Bushfire Ready and yes Cadets are able to participate.

The display is a CFS only display and is being organised by CFS Public Affairs. The registration of interest has only just been sent out and has been posted on this website under General > Country Fire Service.

Registrations of Interest are now being sought for anyone who is keen to be involved in this years Royal Show. Due to the Royal Adelaide Shows two year limit on main arena demonstrations, we are going back to a static display.

See below for more information.

Registration of Interest

It’s show time! The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) has had a long standing involvement with the Royal Adelaide Show held annually at the Wayville Showgrounds.

Over the past two years CFS has been lucky enough to have a demonstration in the main arena, ‘Fifteen Minutes of Flame’ proved to be a huge success for CFS with a high level of participation from volunteers.

To ensure the main arena demonstrations stay fresh, the Royal Adelaide Show have a two year limit on performances, for this reason the CFS will be going back to a static display to be manned by volunteers and staff this year.

Volunteers have always been an integral part of the success of our Royal Show involvement.

This year the Royal Show will be held from 7 – 15 September and registrations of interest are being sought from volunteers who are keen to participate.

The static display will be designed around our Fire Danger Season campaign of ‘Bushfire Ready’.

We are looking for volunteers who enjoy speaking and interacting with the general public and can point them in the right direction to get information.

As a show volunteer, you will be provided with:
·   CFS Green Polo Shirt to wear at the show, while on the stand and keep as a memento;
·   CFS Green Hat;
·   CFS Stubby Holder;
·   4 entry tickets – One for your entry on the day you attend the stand; and
·   Meal vouchers.

Transport to and from Wayville Showgrounds will be your own responsibility, please try to use group vehicles where possible, no on site parking is available.

Level 1 PPC is optional, if you do decide to bring it please ensure that it is clean and in good condition.
