Title: Pumps
Post by: Numpty on August 03, 2009, 05:28:20 PM
G'day all,

Just wondering who makes the best rural firefighting pumps from your experience of different types. Or types that have proven to be unreliable.

Cheers

the two stage pumps on the latest cfs appliance builds. GAAM MK450's...considering they are in the Rural product line?

I think past experience has taught us that the Magirus trailer pump was probably the most widely used pump in CFS prior to the GAAM's coming into play.

Then again some brigades would say they were'nt due to impeller failures.

The of course Darley is right up there for a great pump.

I think the best rural pump which is not fitted to an appliance is a waterous floto pump.  Pumps hard all the time. Lightweight, nice workable size, just a great piece of kit. 8-)

Not impressed with our pump on our appliance.  We have one of the deutz/waterous pumps which are not a turbo.  Could never understand why we decided to have a turbo and a non turbo combination pump. :?
