Country Fire Service / Foam for the CFS

I heard a rumour and it may only be that but I was told CFS will only now provide Class A BFFF foam now and that is to be used on Class A and Class B fires. If bridages wish to store and stow Class B AFFF foam it is at the cost to the Group or Bridage. Can someone with their finger on the pulse please clarify the situation?

Country Fire Service / GRN Pagers are a failure

It's come to my attention and that of my brigade and Group that the GRN pager system needs to be improved dramatically!
Members of my brigade will miss pager messages from time to time. Are their other brigades out there experiencing the same issue?

Volunteers meeting a required percentage for Call Outs & Training?
This is the question I ask, personally I think all operational fire fighters in the CFS should meet 1/3 of all call outs and training. Maybe something similar to what the retained MFS fire fighters have to meet whatever that maybe.
The reason I make this statement at some brigades fire fighters are lapse at their commitment to their brigades and if they dont attend training and call outs regularly how are they possibly maintaining a competent skill level, learning new skills and keeping up to speed with operational changes. You can spend ages training but rolling down the street to the real thing does anything else compare?
With what the service is expected to provide to the community now days and all the skill levels required to be maintained should we expect something like this? Should bridage Captains have the power to enforce such an idea?

Country Fire Service / Blue vs. Green shirts under turn-out gear

Just wanted to see what everyone thinks in regards to blue or green t-shirts.
I know CFS HQ are keen on the horrible green but every brigade I know have been wearing blue and are keen to keep wearing blue with the star and not the gay CFS logo.
I even know some brigades which have gone ahead with their own blue long shirts and cargo pants, which I must add look pretty smart. With the attitude "Until CFS stick their hands in their pockets and supply us a station uniform we will be wearing this!"

Country Fire Service / New CFS pumpers

A little birdy told me CFS infrastructure and logistics department has come out with another cracker. 14 pumpers and they are based on Canter size applainces. God help us if this is a fact!
