I seen one of those SAMFS trucks when i went to Old Tailem Town a couple years ago  :-D

PF instead of going to Old Tailem Town why not go to Sovereign Hill in Ballart as i went there in year 12 on a field trip and seen one of those horse drawn fire carts that they used in the gold mining days based in the recreated fire station :-D

We still have our horse drawn fire cart with all the equipment on it still as well as the very old CABA set.

I think the first picture is a Pacesetter appliance use in the 1970.  It was seen as a bit radical as it had a Front mounted Darley PTO pump (you can see it under the bumper) and rear mounted engine.  Apparently they went like the clappers!

Correct,It was a Chubb Pacesetter and they did fly,however you will find one at Roxby now painted yellow and i think the other one has been robbed for parts

Hey Firey,  Did you know the Inter 48 had a sister truck..it ended up painted white and used for some time by Strathalbyn SES

I remember the SES truck same as the other but not aware it was the sister truck to Fleet 48.....Ripleys
