Title: Mcleods daughters 2008 SES storm damage
Post by: 029 on July 27, 2008, 01:53:11 PM
did anybody see the first episode of mcleods daughters????

I was disgusted at the portrail of the SES i would never tarp a hay shed and he did a real dodgy job on it then welded a windmill back together i feel it has given people a false view of the SES. im gob smacked at how it went this was supervised and scripted by an SES member (my unit was to be involved how ever this changed the day before filming) and yet the SES got f..... over.

well done to who ever was involved in this was a grat job at making us look like a mob of cowboys

No different to when they had the Gungellan CFS on there.. Sent a person in with BA that had never worn it before on their own for a rescue drill. They had CFS advisers for the filming but no one says they have to follow what they say.

LOL BM.

And anyway, Its Tv. You see alot of sh** that is either totally wrong, or sensationally over scripted..

Im sure the average Jo wasn't sitting in the living room yelling to all the family.. " HEY, DID YOU SEE HOW THAT FLURO ORANGE GUY TARPED THAT ROOF!! HOW SHOCKING!!"

All i can say is, " ITS A TV SHOW" 99.5% of the viewing public wouldnt know if it was right or wrong.

My family hate me watching a fire, rescue or OH&S scene in movies or TV. I cringe & complain on 'how it is not correct'.

They now shut me up so they can enjoy the false story line     :-D

Sooooo many possible lines re people, incidents & other organisations.....

But I think it would have been at the incident on the weekend, when an elderly couple who punched their car through THREE shop walls at Gawler. I understand MFS did the RCR & SES did the shoring of the walls.

Hey that would have been a different RCR....yep the car is between wall 2 & 3 inside the shop.

...yep SES crew would have done the cleanup at that incident & if I was the elderly couple, their would have been some ***

029 - Have to admit i saw it and was pretty dissapointed for the SES's rep.... at the end of the day it is just a TV show as others have said, but it does portray the service to do taskings that in reality would not happen... Hopefully it doesnt lead to the public calling in for evene more random crap.

Also agree, the CFS side of things on that show has been pretty dissapointing.... but hey, TV show... no worse than Fire 000 ;)
