cheers for the link Jono...

thats the same camera as the ones from my link i think...

i ended up ordering from the site, ends up costing $20AUD more, however comes with the proper helmet mount as well as batteries & charger.

will hopefully get some vids to post on youtube soon ;)

Yeah it took me a while to make my clip up. I was looking at ordering one off the site, But I persevered. The hardest part was getting it to face on the right angle (eye level) not sure if you will have that trouble with that clip thats the only variable not adjustable. You can swivel it left to right and fully rotate as well.

Still waiting to use mine at a job yet! Theres some good videos on you tube and the firecam site as well.

I bought a 2gb SD stick of ebay for 20 and picked up a charger and batteries for 35 from Dicksmiths :)

All up it cost me 210Aud to set up.

Happy filming :D

Got mine for chrissy :D Alot cheaper of Ebay and exactly the same thing. Still havnt used it yet, spent alot of time modifying a torch clip to suit it :D i'll post some pics and a vid once i use it!

I was quoted $45 for postage of the site + Purchase

Off Ebay $99 for the camera and only $35 postage.

yeh 45 is the s/h quote i was given...

do you have a link to the ebay one jono? hows the footage from it?

Heres a link for the quality of it. Me riding down the Portie's esplanade, It's normally not so blocky, but it gives you a rough idea of quality. You Tube changes the format when you upload videos, creating those bigger blocks across the video :( Excuse the audio as it was just wind noise and noise coming from the bike. Its not usually that bad.

At the moment the seller doesn't have any for sale but this is his link, i'm sure if you messaged him he would have more to sell.

I am no oldie but have been in service 14 years or so and the Firies seem to be getting much younger? Did anyone see page 4 of the Advertiser with the two what looked like cadets at the O'Halloran Hill fire?

These guys should be proud that they are out there doing their bit. By the look they must be just 16.

Well done young FF's keep them coming.

I wish we had some more coming in that age group.

Both just came up from cadets at Seaford about 6 months ago :D

Countrygirl.. What are you talking about?

For starters.. The "BLEVE" tag in Jono's signature stands for "BOILING LIQUID EXPANDING VAPOR EXPLOSION" (BLEVE).. Not Believe, or 'Blieve'..

Secondly, I don't think he meant any dis-respect by the post, if anything, bringing light to the tradgedy!.. I know when I saw the post it was the first I knew of the incident and straight away phoned a family member who I knew was riding a motorcycle in that general area that morning to make sure it wasnt them !!

So how bout you spare a thought for other people before openly attacking them on here !.. Especially when you don't know the intention of their posting, nor the related content in it! .. Because I "believe" Jono meant nothing negative or dis-respectful by it!

Thanks bro,  :-D Saved me from saying it  :-P

Personally I think it was quite a flop. Dead boring.

Did CFS put much planning into it?

All Equipment discussion / Re: Co2 detectors
« on: September 08, 2007, 10:06:07 AM »
What do you want? Do you want a specific CO2 Detector? Or just a gas detector for general use?

The CDU 440 is a good CO2 only detector.

There are many MANY types of gas detectors. PID's are not the be all and end all...

Just the co2 detectors.

Had a quick look around on the net, the CDU 440 isn't cheap  :-o

Another good meter I would like to get would be a meter that measures the flammability of the air and can give you a code readout of the chemical in the air.

Country Fire Service / Re: Train/tram crossings
« on: September 06, 2007, 08:44:42 PM »
Are there any official rulings on crossing a level crossing P1 once the boom gates/lights have operated?

Just crossed my mind today as we don't deal with any crossings in our area.

Edit spelling

COSO 8
Drivers shall not proceed over a railway or tram crossing when:
Warning signals are operating
When directed not to by an employee of a Rail Operating System Organisation

Thanks, simple :)

I am wanting to get some prices on a couple of Co2 detectors for our BA gear, similar to the ones MFS have.

Have any other brigades purchased these before?
