« on: July 20, 2011, 02:46:40 PM »
I have been listening to the scanner (sascan) off and on all day and I was wondering how many medstar teams run each day and what are their call sings? Does anyone know how busy medstar would be (jobs attended). cheers

I think I know what you're trying to say. I think when you mean SPRINT, you mean Land cruiser 4X4. There is no SPRINT in that area, there is the RTL who operates out of a ford territory, and he is based at Strath. Sometimes Goolwa utilize a SPRINT to car pool vollies around. As for the 4X4, most carry patients and is usually the V500 person works out of until V76 is free.

I'll bet they looked at that and said filtered :-D

The question is did they respond

I've been told it was an error and they mixed up Gawler with Goolwa  :-D

The one I've seen at fulham is the same model as an emergency ambulance (With bold writing Emergency Support Unit). I've seen the BR too and you must have a truck license to drive it (for obvious reasons!). Interesting read though  :wink :-)

They also run your standard day-to-day ambulance. Easy to see, has big lettering EMERGENCY SUPPORT UNIT, don't know the specific call sign of that particular ambo. But SAAS wants to introduce more Support vehicles because there has been a rapid incline in the amount of patients that are "unable" to be carried in ambulances.

A solution to the problem would be to ban smoking. Other government buildings have no smoking so why does the Remand Centre have to be different :?

Does anyone know the main station of the Fleurieu Peninsula Unit (FP76)? And the towns that they are tasked for emergencies.

Cheers Mike

You will find that many units that go to the Adelaide Remand Centre are usually K3 (Available to run) withing 5 minutes if there was a major scale emergency. The only time the Remand Centre causes anguish to MFS is when they have lots of EMERGENCIES, this means the units like Prospect and others have to cover the Adelaide base. This then results in stations being thrown out of kilt because of these changes. However, on a quiet day at the office, think about how much money the MFS will get for a call out, only a couple of km's away. I do agree that they should ban smoking in the building, but with the money the MFS are getting, they are able to buy the new scania's.

Hi guys I'm new to this forum, and I have been wanting to ask this question for a long time to a SAPOL guru, but anyone might know. How is the MAC Rescue EC130 managed by SAPOL, what procedures must SAPOL go through to operate the chopper and what incidents will it come to use for.

Cheers Mike
