Easiest way to get something done is to complain, but don't complain to the comms guys, complain to region or CFS HQ and get them to chase it up via DO Moir, THEN something will get done.
Yeah right.

Sometimes they are responded to the most minor things, such as
MFS: *CFSRES INC025 12/01/09 10:07,RESPOND GRASS FIRE,CNR ZANKER DR & CURRAWONG WAY,MT BARKER
MAP 172 L 15 TG128,REPORT OF SMOULDERING CAMP FIRE IN RESER,VE, CALLER SAID BEST ACCESS OFF
ZANKER,LTHT42 SAIR55 MBKR19 LTHT00
Were they really necessary at 10am in the morning to that?

How is PPE distributed these days?? How come one group seems to be able to get nomex and another can't? my understanding was that the Region did all the PPE stuff so how come the difference?
Depends what you ask for? We dont seem to have any issuses getting nomex.

One of the members of my brigade built a hose winding handle....slides under the tray of the standard 24, and 14, is capable of winding 25mm, 38 mm & 64 mm hose on the same handle, and enables the brigade to wind up layflat hoses to a dutch roll more quickly and more comfortably than on the ground.

Pip

Got a pic you can post?, have been looking at that type of thing for our trucks.

Softpack drinks bag stored in the fridge fully stocked, bells drop grab the bag from the fridge, grag 4 frozen water bottles from the freezer put em in the soft pack and your gone.
We've got the same concept, 3 bags in the fridge in the PPE area, carry 12-15 bottles, enough to carry you over till the fridge on the truck gets cold.

Gambier Group have an ops brigade that run comms like Wattle Range, except ours cause more problems then they solve.
What, like the captain running out to jobs and putting stop calls on appliances?

Cam,If you guys want to do the full course you get the group to support your application, send it to the regional office and its up to them.....

filtered that!  Our brigade wants nothing to do with Hazmat except on a support level.
Their group wouldnt support them anyhow would they?

Hey Bill, I also heard a few staff had resigned in the last week or two, but 9 is a lot, especially out of a workforce of 90 odd

The ones I heard were

Tim Davis from HQ
Simon Vogel from Region 6
Narelle Rawnesly from Region 2
Neil Ellis from Air Ops
Anthony Thorpe from Region 1

Who else is going ??

Maybe the staff get treated as well as the vollies and that is why they are all leaving, I guess this means less people to look after our needs for a while.
Pretty sure Tim's been gone for a while and Narelle only transferred to Waymouth st? didnt actually leave?

Is Aldinga part of the Top 12? I dare say if MFS already have the land, there will be a station and a pump there in the near future...
MFS (Safecom) own land in lots of places, doesnt mean a station will be going in there anytime soon. If they owned land at Ki Ki would you say a station is going in there as well?
