Post by: 2468 on April 09, 2009, 05:31:05 PM
Does anyone know the brand of winch that the MFS use? and if so where to buy them from?

talking about the Rescue truck mounted ones?   they dont put them on Rescue's anymore.  There just on the existing ones.

Think that means they are getting phased out.  Dont put them on your rescue truck....

Why not run both a Tirfor, slings and a truck mounted winch?

Have to go with numbers on this one, do not understand why you would not carry both make the bigger jobs so much easier. MFB rescues carry the tirfor but have the front mounted winch rated up to 8.5 tonne with the nylon being put on the new rescue winches to bring it up from 4 tonne with the old metal cable. If you can carry them all and lot of chains, hook, slings, d shackles etc etc to go with them why not.
