As posted by Boredmatrix in the "Sunday Mail" thread, it would need to be a united stand, with some of the pride and 'just sticking it out' attitude taken by many brigades dropped in favour of standing together and making some noise about where funding is needed.

We are providing a free service, one which costs them significantly less to fund than the opening and maintenance of MFS stations. The least they can do is provide us with equipment anywhere near as good!

Negative Whitecloud....... in most cases volunteers are out of pocket, (not just lost wages) providing this so called free service

no Jaff - he is right...technically

why would the government give a rats if volunteers are out of pocket?  as far as they are concerned - CFS has it's budget!

Technicaly....Smechnicaly! :-)

Frankly this is a shocking revelation that the government doesn't care.... and to think that Mike Rann is a CFS vollie.....well technically!

And to think I put my thingy in his box!

Anyone know how often he turns up to training...(lol)..... what a gongbeater!!!!!

So if he does turn up to training does he drag his own hoses or does he have one off his staff pull his hose for him.......kind of a hands off approach.
Naah I guarantee he uses his own hand!

Boardy is right - the question should be asked Where has all the money gone?
And just to remind everyone what volunteer means - you weren't forced into it & you don't have to stay (by the way $70k for a building inspector is not bad).
So refer to the other thread - have a protest & good luck!
