Does OS9 cover jobs in Victor; ie big MVA's you spoke about earlier or is that the job of the MPS. MPS are just for regional full time though?

So you have one at full time regional SAAS stations? I've seen FP1 and V1 around before too, but I thought V1 might be the call sign for the MPS. Is FP1 based at Mt Barker because the few times he has responded to an incident has been around the mt barker-stirling area.

I'd be interested to know; do RTL's pick and choose their incidents or are they paged. I've heard radio chatter in the past of them attending a cat B lift. I know they aren't like ACTL's in the sense of sometimes being the closest car or supporting crews with IC backup, but (unless it's happening now) do you think RTL's should be used as a first responder to incidents where getting a crew out might take a while?

25-06-11 17:22:50 Pager Test, Appliance 5271 is now running as 521 which is first out the door,, Appliance 528 is second out the door and Appliance 529 is not to be driven or moved at all!!!!, SO Higgins - MFS Whyalla Response

Is that temporary or permanent?

HM2 would have to be one of the most quietest RTL's in terms of being paged for incidents, I don't listen to the radio enough to pick up if or when he gets a job. Last few times I have been in Goolwa I have seen an RTL vehicle parked out the front so it could be where he is based. I do remember the old territories, they were white with the dashboard red and blues

Wow, Victor; I'm a bit surprised; HM2 has a pretty large area to cover. Unless he works out of Strath (still far enough) that would be a long drive...Also if HM2 attended that RCR car under truck than he must have been fleet 510; I remember that incident.

SAAS / Re: Wallaroo call sign

Hi

I can only talk from experiences down here at the South East, but a  40 call sign is usually used for a Cert II or IV which can be classed as a crew. Also the RTL might have been doing some driver training with a Cert II vollie. Most likely that the RTL was in Wallaroo providing some training and worked a shift for them today, hence the reason you have WL1. Again, only talking from experiences down here.

Will

WRONG!

WL1 is the Wallaroo Clinical Team Leader station boss (not a RTL)

Does he operate out of a normal ambulance or is he just based at the station making sure things flow smoothly?

Does anyone know if HM2 does some work in Goolwa? I think I saw HM2 at a recent MVA not far from Strath.

Yeah sorry about that. A VTL operates from Strathalbyn and can work in the South Coast too. Call sign is OC9.

(Cheers to Alan; courtesy of info provided by him via Ozfire  :-D, thanks mate)

Yeah, OS9 is his callsign now. And yes, he is an RTL.

Ford Territory, fleet 510, I saw him at the Strath hospital a while back.

Hypotheticals / SOP for a 3rd alarm Commercial Fire in Renmark
« on: May 31, 2011, 10:00:04 AM »
What would be the 1st alarm response appliances to a pager message like this (ie Tanker ect):

MFS:*CFRES INC45 31/5/11 13:21,RESPOND COMMERCIAL FIRE, RAL RAL AVENUE,RENMARK MAP 0 0 0 TG193,RENMARK HOSPITAL,MULITPLE CALLS.,REN618

***this is not a real pager message***

What would be the 2nd Alarm response appliances and the 3rd Alarm response appliances. Who would be most likely to go COQ (and to which station). And lastly at what response (1st alarm, 2nd or 3rd) would you introduce the D/O into the thick of things.

***If you're wondering why this thread was put up it is because i'm researching the MFS for a school project and I want to include the differences between regional responses and metro responses***
