Response messages coming to an MFS pager only come through on the normal tone for primary alarms. Not Tone 7 (emergency tone). The only ones that come through on Tone 7 are the ones with *cfsres from adelaide

So if it was an MFS pager then a midnight message like that might make ya jump out of bed and run

Wow, that comcen operator needs to be renamed "Wingman".
That is being a wingman at its best, like going out with your mates at night and getting caught by someone you dont want to be talking to and giving your mates a secret signal to get you the hell out of there...

What a nice early morning wake up call, Moorak probably thought they were going to the jail, not driving 500km to assisst with a helicopter...

When comms puts in details does the GO response automatically come up? Because if it does they might ave noticed Gambier vs Chaffey Groups?

But Davi, your not allowed to think critically about things people are trying to sell you, that would just be cheating...

How would our lovely sales reps ever sell anything?

Was it just a slip up with Stirling North needing to be responded instead?

I was watching a show on foxtel a few weeks ago, and discovery channel had something on fire fighting. This guy sprayed a window with this gel stuff and had his hand on the back of a pane of steel or something while the guy was putting blow torch on it, and cos it had the gel it was cool to touch (sort of how the story went) but the gist was it could be used to coat houses in the event of bush fire

is this the same stuff as they are trialling??

Keeping students engaged. and keeping up with the needs of learners is a constant battle for teachers, let alone instructors who spend their time doing something other than teaching the same course everyday, yet are expected to come in and teach a very diverse group of learners on a course.

I dont think the issue is with how it is taught, it just needs to be continually reviewed so that it stays relevant for all concerned (instructors and students)

Yep this pager i'm lookin at says march

i wonder when/if that issue will get fixed?

Its like when crews get responded daylight savings changeover days and arrive back at the station earlier than what they left...

So with CSIRO involved does this mean there will be some sort of fire behaviour research done in a controlled (obviously not controlled like in a lab) location?

I can see the benefits of burning parts of Ngarkat, but how good would it be from a research point of view to gain data from this opportunity when it is not an emergency situation...

I think it's also matter of giving an understanding of the situation.
I have heard of Captains that make their crew (as long as they are comfortable doing it...) practice a running grass fire drill, but rotate making sure everyone gets a go driving, main attack hose, mop up hose etc.

Although this sounds like common sense (and to relate it back) i think that even though i may not drive in that situation (or tie the ropes) it is good for me to have an understanding of what they may be up against as a driver (or rescue crew)

I think it is just that it doesn't meet a nationally recognised standard, so the courses meet required OHS but at an organisationally deemed level

I think CFS is pushing more more courses and levels to attain nationally accredited level so then skills can be tranferred interstate?

Is that right or am i missing the point?
